On Tuesday the Kansas City Royals rode their power bats to a fourth straight victory as Michael Massey and Salvador Perez homered to lift the Royals to an 8-3 win over the Detroit Tigers

Michael Wacha allowed two runs and six hits in seven innings while walking one with three strikeouts to win his third straight start, the Royals are now 30-19, and trail the Guardians by just a game and a half for the AL Central lead

More locally, the Sacred Heart boys golf team all but secured another consecutive 2A state title on Monday, dominating the rest of their class in a fashion not yet seen in the state of Kansas.

Sacred Heart closed out the opening day of the state tournament nine strokes over par, to take a 38-stroke lead on the next closest team from Ellinwood 

Three Knights are currently in the top four at state, with an opportunity to climb even higher today
