On Friday The Kansas City Royals trimmed their magic number to two with a 7-4 victory over the Washington Nationals

Pinch hitter Adam Frazier’s one-out, line drive base hit to left field in the top of the ninth drove in two runs, breaking a 4-4 tie and guiding the Royals to their third straight win following a seven-game losing streak.

To add to the Royals’ big day, the Minnesota Twins fell 8-6 to the Marlins in 13 innings giving both Detroit, and Kansas City a 3-game lead in the AL Wild Card with just 3 games left to go.

A win for the Royals or a loss for the Twins and Mariners will put KC through to the playoffs for the first time since 2015, KC start’s its final series of the season in Atlanta tonight at 6:20

Tonight will also see week four of the high school football season kick off and our area will be busy as the Central Mustangs entertain Eisenhower, Chapman hosts Clay Center, Ellsworth squares off with Lyons, Minneapolis treks to Norton and Bennington heads to Republic County.
