Following former Vice Mayor and Commissioner Jerry Ivey's resignation, a decision was made on the next steps moving forward to fill the vacancy.
Current commissioners approved for the city to prepare and publish Expression of Interest (EOI) forms to complete Ivey’s term.
The EOI forms will be available for anyone in the public who is willing to fill the vacant seat.
The forms will be due on August 10.
Commissioners will then select Ivey's replacement at the August 24th public meeting.
The EOI forms will be available on the City of Salina website. Those interested can call the City Clerk's office as well at: (785) 309-5735.

Ivey resigned effective July 24.
He was elected to the Salina City Commission in November 2023 and officially began serving his four-year term in January 2024.
Dr. Trent Davis is now the Vice Mayor.
