Rain will develop across most of the area by late this afternoon and will transition to a wintry mix of snow and freezing drizzle across central Kansas tonight. Mainly dry weather Friday and Saturday.
Thursday Evening (6 PM-12 AM)
Mostly rain. Some snow may (40% chance) mix in across north-central Kansas.
Thursday Night (12 AM-6 AM) Rain along and south of 1-70. Narrow axis of snow and freezing rain develops on north side of rain. Snow and ice accumulations below 1", but still watch for slick roads.
Friday Morning (6 AM-12 PM) Rain ends early, with some lingering light snow or freezing rain across far northeast Kansas. After a several hour break, light snow redevelops across central Kansas.
Friday Afternoon (12 PM-6 PM) Brief period of snow, possibly (40% chance) mixed with rain along I-70, moves across the area. Additional snow accumulation generally around or below 1".
