The Salina Art Center is calling on artists and designers to participate in its 2025 Galaxy Gala & Fashion Show, an intergalactic-themed runway event aimed at supporting the center’s arts programming for the coming year.
The event will feature ten artists selected to create avant-garde fashion designs that push creative boundaries and embrace the cosmic theme.
Each selected artist will receive a $300 stipend for materials, a complimentary one-night stay in Salina on February 1, 2025, and admission to the post-show after-party. The designs will be showcased in the runway show at the Hilton Garden Inn in Salina on February 1.
Interested artists should submit their intent to participate, along with preliminary sketches, a materials list, and a brief bio, via email to Misty Serene at [email protected].
No formal application form is required, but all materials must be submitted by November 1, 2024.
Votes for the designs will be cast online, with each dollar contributing to one vote. The designer receiving the most votes will be awarded a $1,000 prize, and the top five designs will be exhibited at the Salina Art Center from February 5 through March 30, 2025.
The call for artists begins on September 25, 2024, with the submission deadline set for November 1, 2024. The Galaxy Gala Runway Show will take place on February 1, 2025.
