Chapman and Bishop Ward faced off Friday evening as the Irish Classic tournament continued. The Lady Irish blew out the Lady Cyclones 59-13 and, in the boy's game, Bishop Ward rolled Chapman 61-21.
The Lady Irish never trailed in their game as they led 17-6 after the opening quarter and 28-9 at halftime. Chapman had a 50-13 advantage after three quarters on the way to a 46-point win.
Jai Rogers, Abigail Gaston, and Avery Baer each had 12 points for the Lady Irish. A total of nine Chapman players scored in the game.
The boy's game rounded out Friday's schedule at the Irish Classic. Bishop Ward began on a 21-5 run on its way to a 40-point victory. Leading 39-12 at the half and 56-14 after the third quarter, the outcome was never in doubt as the Cyclones led wire-to-wire.
Tyler Holmes led Bishop Ward and all scorers with 25 points. Jed Moody netted nine points for Chapman and Issac Van Meter added five off the bench.
The Irish will face Rossville on Saturday to wrap up the Irish Classic. Tipoff for the girl's game will be at 1 pm and the boy's game will follow.
