Updated outlook which has changed the yellow slight risk to a green marginal risk over portions of north central Kansas.
Scattered storms are expected to develop along a dryline late this afternoon over western and central KS and move northeast thru the evening. Quarter sized hail and 60-65 mph winds will be the primary threats with any severe storms that develop.
The National Weather Service office has issued guidance due to gusty winds.
A High Wind Warning is in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday with south winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
A Wind Advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Sunday to 10 a.m. Monday, with south winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
People should avoid being outside in wooded areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
