UPDATE: All of area now under winter weather advisories

UPDATE 6 p.m. Saturday: The National Weather Service in Hastings, Neb., has canceled the winter storm warning for Jewell and Mitchell counties and has instead issued a winter weather advisory. Please see below.

The National Weather Service has moved a number of counties in our area from winter storm warnings to winter weather advisories.

The National Weather Service in Hastings, Neb., has issued a winter weather advisory in effect until 10 p.m. Saturday for the following counties in our area.

Jewell County

Mitchell County

Additional snow accumulations of up to one inch through evening. Minor blowing snow may lead to reduced visibility.

Plan on slippery road conditions.

The winter weather advisory remains in effect until 12 a.m. Sunday for the following counties in our area, according to the National Weather Service in Wichita.

Marion County

McPherson County

Total additional snow accumulations of up to one inch are forecast. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph are expected.

Plan on slippery road conditions through Sunday morning. Another round of accumulating snow will move through this evening with additional light accumulations.

Slow down and use caution while traveling.

Additionally, the National Weather Service in Wichita has moved the following counties into a winter weather advisory in effect until 12 a.m. Sunday.

Ellsworth County

Lincoln County

Saline County

Additional snow accumulations of up to one inch are forecast. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph are forecast. Another round of accumulating snow will move through this evening with additional light accumulations.

Plan on slippery road conditions, even well after the snow ends. Slow down and use caution while traveling.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has moved the following counties into a winter weather advisory in effect until 12 a.m. Sunday.

Clay County

Cloud County

Ottawa County

Republic County

Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are forecast.

Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Slow down and use caution while traveling.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 12 a.m. Sunday for Dickinson County, according to the National Weather Service in Topeka.

Additional snow accumulations of up to one inch are forecast.
