Post Rock Community Foundation awards spring grants

SYLVAN GROVE — During its spring grant cycle, the Post Rock Community Foundation awarded over $59,000 to eight projects throughout Lincoln County and those served by USD 298 and USD 299. The following organizations received funding:

Sylvan Senior Center, $17,444 to renovate Farmer’s Elevator into a senior center.

USD 298, $16,800 to update the basketball goal equipment at Lincoln Jr/Sr High.

Lincoln County Hospital, $5,058 to maintain community health during the COVID-19 pandemic.

USD 299, $5,000 to start an Operation School Supply Relief program.

USD 298, $4,396 to purchase classroom technology for Lincoln Elementary School.

Lincoln Senior Center, $2,200 to improve the water supply.

Central Kansas Mental Health Center, $1,795 for a Mental Health First Aid class provided in Lincoln County.

Kansas Post Rock Limestone Coalition, $1,500 create Post Rock Limestone Sightseeing Maps and Field Guides.

Hunter Lions Club, $1,000 to provide high chairs, booster seats, and changing tables to churches and the community center.

Lincoln County 4-H Shooting Sports, $1,000 to replace archery equipment for instruction.

Luray Craftique Association, $1,000 to support the Luray Food Pantry.

USD 299, $460 for hands-on center activities for Sylvan Elementary.

This round of grants was made possible by four funds at the community foundation: the Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund and the Post Rock Community Action Fund, which both focus on improving quality of life throughout the county, the Kansas Health Foundation Fund, which supports the public health of Lincoln County and those served by USD 298 and 299, and the Sylvan Area Fund, which supports USD 299 and the economic growth and development within the boundaries of USD 299.
