Salina animal shelter managers are set for trial after an arraignment hearing on Monday.

According to the Saline County Attorney's office, the results of the arraignment hearing on Monday morning set managers, Andrea Murphy and Monique Hawley for trial.

Trial is set to occur on September 8-10.

Murphy and Hawley are facing three misdemeanor charges of Animal Cruelty, related to a December 2025 incident where three puppies with parvovirus were euthanized.

An affidavit claims the women euthanized three puppies at the shelter last year without being sedated beforehand.

Both were charged by Reynolds back on April, due to the reported euthanasia procedures on the puppies.

They are also on paid administrative leave.

Salina Post will provide more updates and specifics on this ongoing case.
