Hello and happy Tuesday everybody, it’s Tyler Henry, back with another KINA Sports Update presented by Salina Regional Orthopedic and Sports Medicine.

On Monday, Hoisington’s regional softball tournament got underway and three of our area teams were whittled down to two going into the semifinal round
The Ellsworth Bearcats pulled off the upset in a 4-5 matchup with Minneapolis, piling on two big innings in a 13-3 rout of the Lady Lions
Meanwhile on the other side of the bracket the 1-seed in Southeast of Saline swiftly dispatched Russell 15-0, punching their ticket to Tuesday’s second round.
Both games were streamed 100% free on Salina Post with live video and commentary, and we will continue our coverage today with broadcasts of the 3:00 semifinal between SES and Ellsworth, and the regional championship between the winner of that game and either Beloit or Hoisington at 7:00

Today will also see the start of regional action for our 17 remaining area teams, including Salina South, Salina Central, Abilene, Chapman, SES, Ellsworth, Sacred Heart, Ell-Saline and Bennington. And finally yesterday it was announced that with the 2024 Kansas City Chiefs schedule set to be released on Wednesday evening, single-game and group tickets for all home games at Arrowhead Stadium will go on sale this Thursday
Tickets may be purchased at www.chiefs.com by the public beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday.
