The Salina League of Women Voters has announced they, along with Salina Tech Student Government Association will be holding a public forum, before the upcoming special mail-in ballot concerning the amendment of pitbull breed-specific ordinance.

On Tuesday, February 3 the forum will be held at Salina Area Technical College, Building J (2605 Berschel Ave), starting at 6:00 pm.

This forum is free and open to the public to attend, for those who want a deeper insight before casting their vote.

Those in attendance will hear from four speakers explaining certain topics, following a question and answer time.

Those four speakers include:

- Jamie Doss, Saline County Election Clerk, explaining the voting process.

-  Jacob Wood, City Manager, discussing the challenges with the current law and the challenges of changing the law.

- Midge Grinstead, Kansas Humane Society, urging a yes vote.

- Alan Jilka, City Commissioner when the law was passed, urging a no vote.

The Salina Tech Student Government Association also encourages the public to donate a non-perishable food item to support the college's Gear Grub food pantry.

After the forum, it will be recorded on the Salina League of Women Voters Youtube page.
