Gusty winds and dry conditions throughout central Kansas resulting in extreme grassland fire danger on Tuesday
According to the US National Weather Service, these gusty southwest winds will result in extreme grassland fire danger in the afternoon and evening throughout central Kansas.
Salina is in the area of the extreme grassland fire danger.
West winds are expected to increase late in the day gusting to around 45 mph at times in the region.
However, clouds may limit fire weather concerns further east in south central and southeast Kansas although a very high grassland fire danger is still expected.
