

David Lynn Helvey, 62, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Sunday, May 3rd, 2020.

David was born in Lincoln, Kansas on February 8, 1958, a son of Connie (Wagner) and Denny Helvey, of Salina, Kansas.

He was a member of Revolution Church, Salina, Kansas.

Survivors include his parents, Connie and Denny Helvey, of Salina, Kansas; two sons, Dylan Helvey, (Brooke, of Geneseo, Kansas, Jackson Helvey (Hunter Nowak, of Salina, Kansas; two grandchildren, Brenna Helvey and Bode Helvey; brother, Danee Helvey (Travis Brinck, of Ellsworth, Kansas; sister, Debra Cunningham, of Salina, Kansas. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mary “Stacy” Anastasia Bohm-McCann, 54, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died Thursday, April 16, 2020, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

She was born August 26, 1965, in Salina, Kansas, and she attended TMP-Marian High School.

Survivors include her parents; Tom and Debbie Bohm of Hays, a daughter; Heather Tipton and husband Josh of Austin, TX, a brother; Matthew Bohm and wife Chelse of Olathe, two sisters; Sarah Mackey and husband Todd of Hays and Claire Mullen and husband Tobey of Salina, two grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers; Thomas, Sean, and John Bohm, and a sister; Dawn Bohm.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church at a later date.&nbsp; A private family inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.&nbsp;

LaVerne Mae Terres, 86, of Abilene, died Thursday, April 30, 2020 in Abilene. She was born Oct. 6, 1933, in Baldwin, KS, the daughter of E. W. (Bill) and Hazel Deskins.

Laverne graduated from Lyndon High School in 1951. May 9, 1954 Laverne and Pete J. Terres Sr. were married in Topeka, KS before making their home in Lyndon until they moved to Abilene in August of 1976.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband. She will be forever remembered by her son Pete J. Terres Jr.; several nieces, nephews and close friends.

The family has chosen cremation. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.

Memorials in her memory are suggested to the Village Manor Resident Project Fund. They may be sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home 501 N. Buckeye Abilene, KS 67410.

Randall C. Reed, 71, Abilene, died Thursday, April 30, 2020 in Salina.&nbsp; He was born November 6, 1948 in Clay Center to Clayton and Betty (Phelps) Reed.

Randy was a 1966 graduate of Longford High School.&nbsp; He also graduated from Salina Vo-Tech where he studied diesel mechanics.&nbsp; Randy enlisted in the United States Army and served in Vietnam.&nbsp; He and Sherry Trumble were united in marriage on December 5, 1970. &nbsp;Randy worked as a truck driver and diesel mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his parents; children, C.J. Reed and Carrie Smith; and sister, Dana Hayes.

Survivors are his son, Casey; brother, Mark (Jan) Reed; brother-in-law, Ted (Janet) Hayes; girlfriend, Juanita Wilkinson; and two grandchildren, Catira and Rico.

Randall C. Reed

Robert E. Albright, 88, passed away at his home, April 30, 2020. He was born in Hutchinson, KS, February 18, 1932. Parents were Arthur and Elva (Seedle) Albright.

He graduated from Haven High School in 1950, Hutchinson Junior College and Wichita State University with a Mechanical Engineering degree. He served nine years in the Army Reserves. He also worked with his dad on the family farm. He retired in 1993.

He married Betty Morgan, March 22, 1957. He is survived by his wife; daughter, Debra Wood (Ken); grandchildren, Matthew (Cassey) and Kristin Wood; great granddaughter, Rose Wood; brother-in-law, James Morgan (Phyllis); and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Randy, brothers-in-law, Wayne (Ardean) and Earl Morgan.

He will be buried in the Valley Township Cemetery. Cremation has taken place, a private service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Haven Food Bank, Alzheimer's Association or donor's choice in care of Ott Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Haven, KS 67543.

Ronald Tarnstrom, 83, passed away April 29, 2020, at Lindsborg Community Hospital. Ron was the father of five children and the devoted husband of Frances, who preceded him in death. He had one sister, Carole, and many friends and relatives.

Ron was a farmer, a school teacher and administrator, an author, and most importantly, a child of God. He loved the K-State Wildcats, country living, painting, model railroading, military history, astronomy, and his irises.

Donnis M. Pierce, age 86 entered into rest, Friday, May 1, 2020 at Mount Joseph Senior Village, Concordia, Kansas.&nbsp; She was born January 20, 1934 in Clay County, Kansas to Emil and Alma (Allgren) Kaspar.

Donnis married Lyle D. Pierce on May 24, 1953 in Clifton, Kansas.&nbsp; They made their home in the Clyde Community and farmed for many years.&nbsp; He preceded her in death on June 18, 1999.

She worked for Skelly Gas Station in Clyde, CO-OP Gas Station in Concordia as a bookkeeper and later she worked as the Secretary at the United Methodist Church in Clyde.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Clyde, where she taught Sunday school and played the organ for many years.

Donnis enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her loving grandchildren.

She is survived by her 4 children, Nancy Dugas (David, Concordia, KS; Carolyn Fair, Nevada, IA., and friend Steve Caron of Clyde, KS; Janell Ross (Michael, Meriden, KS; and Lonnie Pierce (Caryn, Vancouver, WA; 7 grandchildren, Corie Dugas (Caleb Krug, Guilderland, NY; Allison Fair, Des Moine, IA; Alex Fair, Cedar Rapids, IA.; Courtney Jeschke (Jason, and their daughter, Rylee of Vermillion, SD; Blake Ross, Merriam, KS; Caitlyn Ross, Topeka, KS; several nieces and nephews.

Donnis was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, grandson, Tony Dugas, parents, Emil and Alma, sister, Dorene Tonsfeldt.

Visitation will be held at the Chaput Mortuary in Clyde from 1-8 pm on Sunday, May 3, 2020.

Ila Fay (Gillberg) Grant, 92, passed away of natural causes on April 30, 2020 in Salina. Mrs. Grant was born on the family farm near Bridgeport, Kansas, and was one of six children born to parents Arnold and Miloh Gillberg, descendants of pioneering settlers in the Smoky Hill River Valley.

She is survived by her husband, Arnold Grant; sons, Kevin and Kim; daughter, Jane Grant Kaufman; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her brother, Dwight Gillberg; sisters, Arnetta, Ileta and Fern; as well as Arnold Edwin, an infant brother.

She graduated as one of nine seniors from Assaria High School in 1945 and attended Kansas Wesleyan University, where she was a graduate of the Cadet Corps nursing class of Asbury Hospital. She completed a residency in St. Louis, Missouri, before returning to Salina to begin a long career in nursing at Asbury, now Salina Regional Health Center, until retirement. In 1948, she met and married Arnold Grant in Salina, and the couple enjoyed a long life together. They celebrated their 50th anniversary with family and friends from across the Midwest in 1998 at Trinity United Methodist Church. She continued to volunteer at the hospital for several years and took up painting in retirement, working primarily in oils and acrylics and creating many works enjoyed by the family over the years. She loved family and appreciated being with small children. Mrs. Grant was a devout lifelong Methodist and member of University United Methodist and Trinity United Methodist Church.

Graveside services for family members will be held at the family cemetery near Bridgeport, Kansas.

Memorials can be made to Kansas Wesleyan University for the nursing building, care of Ryan Mortuary, Salina.

Clifton Roy Morse, 78, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Sunday, April 26th, 2020.

Clifton was born in Tenants Harbor, Maine on June 1, 1941, a son of the late Dorothy C. (Barter) and Virgil Clifton Morse.

On February 24, 1962, Clifton married Virginia Bradshaw.

He served 20 years in the United State AirForce and after retiring, owned and operated Cliff's Repair.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; daughter, Debbie Beaman, (Kris, of Salina; sons, Cliff "Robbie" Morse, of Salina; Gene Morse, (Dawn, of Wichita; 4 grandchildren, Chelsea, Shellby, Katie, Alex; 2 great grandchildren, Kaylynn and Regan; 5 brothers; and 2 sisters.

At the family's request there will be no visitation.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a private family graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Salina.

Mary Frances Lerret, 83, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020. She was born August 11, 1936 in Salina.

She worked for Kreskes, K-Mart and Sam’s. Mary loved to sing and dance and play bingo.

Mary Frances Lerret

Landvis Earl Ferm, 95, of Lindsborg passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at home.  Landvis was born October 9, 1924 in Chicago, IL. He is the son of the late William Bryan and Lillie Adeline (Ingemanson) Ferm.  He married Lois Wiebe on January 18, 1947 at Bethany Lutheran Church. 

Landvis was a high school graduate and had some college.  Landvis was a United States Navy veteran.  He served in World War II in the South Pacific mainly in New Guinea, Australia and the Philippine Islands. After the service, he and Lois remained active with the American Legion for the next 72 years. 

Landvis worked at Kanopolis as an inspector on the fill of the dam during the spring and summer of 1946. He then went to work in the fall of 1946 for the Lindsborg News Record as a lino-type operator and printer, retiring there 46 years later, in 1992.

He had grown up on the family farm and moved back there in October, 1948, with his wife, Lois, and daughter, Leanne.  Landvis began building boats with his brother-in-law and spending time at Kanopolis Lake.

They moved on from boats and built/rebuilt airplanes together.  They built a cub, super cub and a home built airplane from a kit.  Landvis flew until age 75. Landvis also restored a Farmall tractor and a 1926 Model T. He later purchased a 1930 Model A Roadster which, along with the tractor had been in many parades.   

He is survived by his wife: Lois (Wiebe) Ferm, of the home; daughters: Leanne Martin of Griffin, GA, and Lori Johnson of Sunrise Beach, MO; son: Lesley E. Ferm of Roxbury, KS; brother: Evans Ferm of Las Cruces, NM; as well as grandchildren: Jesse (Shana) Koorse, Kyrrha Martin, Jace (Lindsay) Martin, Julie (Alan) Ramsdale, Patrick Cox, Parker Johnson, and Brennan Johnson; and 8 great grandchildren.

Landvis is preceded in death by his parents; daughters: Lana Cox and Lisa Ferm; brother: Dean Ferm; sisters: Patricia Rance, Jacquelin Garrison, and infant Joyce Ferm; and grandson: Michael Wheeler.

Cremation has been chosen.  Private family graveside services will be held at Smoky Hill Cemetery, with military funeral honors as a World War II veteran.

Mary L. (Brungardt) Herrman, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020 in Bushton, KS following a brave battle with cancer. She was born December 13, 1937 in Collyer, KS to Fredolin and Catherine (Fisher) Brungardt.

Mary married Al Herrman on September 8, 1956 in Hays, KS. &nbsp;Al preceded Mary in death on April 14, 2020.&nbsp; Mary was a longtime resident of Great Bend, KS where she owned and operated Al and Mary’s Hair Styling with her husband. Mary had pride and joy in her extended family who all benefited from the beautiful quilting and needlework she enjoyed.&nbsp; After retirement, Al and Mary moved to Salina, KS and later to Lindsborg, KS. &nbsp;She was a member of St. Bridget’s of Sweden Catholic Church in Lindsborg.

Survivors include three daughters, Janet Anderson, (Lowell, of Roosevelt, Minnesota, Jane Merritt, of Troy, Kansas, Pennie Kloos, (Rick, of Berryton, Kansas; son, Eddie Boyer, of Troy, Kansas; brother, Terry Henderson, of Salina, Kansas; 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Crawford; grandson, Matt Boyer; brother, Arthur Henderson; and four sisters, Dorothy, Claudia, Shirley, and Betty.

Jerry Don Plett of Lincolnville died Monday at St. Luke Hospital in Marion on his 84th birthday.&nbsp; He was born April 27, 1936, to Dan and Rosella Plett of Lehigh.&nbsp; Jerry graduated from Lehigh Rural High School in 1954 and was led by his church traditions to be a conscientious objector regarding active military service.&nbsp; He served his country at the Fitzsimmons Army Hospital in Denver from 1956 to 1957 as a subject of an experiment in dehydrated foods for service members in the field of battle.&nbsp;

After his discharge, he began a 64-year farming career around Lehigh and farmed at Lincolnville after 1964.&nbsp; Despite encountering health problems in September 2018 and undergoing hip replacement a year ago, he continued a Hereford cattle operation until his death.&nbsp; His wife, Rowena Lavonne Seibel, was a student at Tabor College when they met.&nbsp; They were married on June 11, 1966, at Garden Park Mennonite Brethren Church in Denver.&nbsp; They raised six children: Candace Krebs of Enid, OK, Dawn (Donnie) Hett of Marion, Angie (Matt) Ehlers of Superior, NE, Pam (Richard) Idleman of Herington, Jason (Amy) Plett of Lincolnville, and Josh (Renae) Plett of Hillsboro.&nbsp; He has 14 grandchildren: Sydney Idleman, Cole Ehlers, Morgan (Ehlers) Rugg, Lane Ehlers, Quinton Hett, Laura (Idleman) Hett, Jeremy Hett, Mekenzie Ehlers, Alli Hett, Jenaya Plett, Brogan Plett, Brady Idleman, Luke Idleman, and Landry Plett; five great-grandchildren: Camille, Sawyer, and Henry Rugg, Scarlett and Amory Jones-Idleman, and four on the way.&nbsp;

Jerry's greatest desire was that his children and grandchildren would have fulfilling marriage relationships.&nbsp; He taught them to appreciate the truly important things, and they held him in high esteem.&nbsp; In the eyes of his family, Jerry had a unique personality.&nbsp; He was a serious person who sought out wisdom and understanding and unpretentiously shared what he learned with family and in everyday contact with people.&nbsp; He lived conscientiously and set a high standard for himself in discipline, hard work, and honestly in dealings with others.&nbsp; His greatest regret was not living to see the fulfillment of the promise of a new world filled with truth and justice.&nbsp;

Jerry has three siblings Bob (Eileen) Plett of Reedley, CA, Joan Duerksen of Newton, and Carol (Bob Wright) Jantz of Highlands Park, CO.&nbsp; He is preceded in death by a brother in law Willis Duerksen.

Jerry Don Plett



If love, or just plain orneriness, could have kept Bill Aron here, he wouldn’t have left us on April 25, 2020.

He was born on February 25, 1941, in Franklin, Louisiana, and he never slowed down. His wonderful parents, William Thomas “Bill Tom” Aron, Sr., and Mattie Cornelia (Pratt) Aron, were in Heaven waiting for him along with his little brother, Joe Edward Aron. We assume they are lighting things on fire and blowing stuff up like in the old days. It’s safe to assume he’s up there fixing something. Grandson Tommy Trotter was waiting to show him the fishing spots.

Bill didn’t want to, but leaves behind the love of his life, Mary Ellen (Lilly) Aron. Married for 60 years, he was a lucky man because no one else would have put up with him for that long.

Bill also leaves behind a smart-mouthed daughter, Shai Trotter; her husband, John Trotter; grandchildren Nicole Beck, Jessica and Joe Ehrlich with daughter Nora, Jason Beck, Jr., and Lewis Trotter.

He is also survived by his book-loving, sword-swinging son, Kenneth Aron; Kenny’s wife, Becky Aron; grandchildren Keith Aron, Kenton Aron, Chris and Kamella Garrison with children Kaleigh, Piper, and Fisher, and Morgan and Amanda Garrison with children Sean, Kenslie, Ellie, and Tristan.

To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he will always be Papaw.

Bill enjoyed two successful careers, first in the military and then working in information technology. He attended numerous schools while in the military and later took courses and earned certifications in IT.

He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1958 at 17 years old. He spent four years as an avionics repair technician, working on everything from jet fighters to DC-3 transports. His time working with aircraft inspired him to be a pilot, but his imperfect eyesight prevented him from flying as a Marine. After earning his GED, spending a year in Atsugi, Japan fixing Marine aircraft and earning the rank of Lance Corporal, Bill separated from the Marine Corps and enlisted in the US Army.

The Army was sufficiently desperate for helicopter pilots in Vietnam that they accepted flight school applicants with corrected 20/20 vision, which now qualified Bill as an applicant. As an enlisted soldier his path would take him to Warrant School, but to qualify for that path he first had to enlist and serve a term in Vietnam as a foot soldier, where he earned his first Bronze Star with V for combat valor.

After Bill’s first tour in Vietnam, he was accepted into Warrant Officer School and then to Helicopter Flight School where he graduated #3 in his class. He was offered a direct commission, which he declined to focus on flying. He returned to Vietnam as a Huey pilot and repair specialist. He repaired helicopters at night and flew around the country recovering downed helicopters during the day. This role put him near multiple combat actions where he recovered downed air crews, medevac’d casualties, and assisted combat missions. These mission assists earned him two additional Bronze Stars with valor, the Air Medal, the ARCOM (Army Commendation Medal, and the Distinguished Flying Cross, which he earned on a rescue mission under heavy fire that killed his copilot seated next to him and also qualified him for the Purple Heart, which he refused. Until recently, he considered this the worst day of his life. After Vietnam, he continued to fly helicopters, traveling around the USA and the world supporting Army Aviation Maintenance. This was a high-risk job recovering broken aircraft and test flying newly repaired aircraft to qualify them for return to the line companies. Chief Warrant Officer William T. Aron, Jr., retired from military service in 1988. A few months after retiring, he had the honor of commissioning his son, Kenneth, upon graduation from Army ROTC at Kansas State University. By retirement he had added two additional ARCOMs, three MSMs (Meritorious Service Medals) and Master Aviator wings. He wore the Valorous Unit Award for his combat tour with the 1st Infantry Division and the Air Medal with a ‘20’ device.

After retirement, he spent two years in school earning CNE, CNA, and EWCNA certifications in Information Technology. He served as a Network Administrator for Salina Office Systems (SOS) and then as Chief Information Officer for the Kansas Highway Patrol until his retirement in 2003.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Monday at the Abilene First Christian Church. Interment will follow in the Abilene Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions in his name be made to the Abilene 1st Christian Church or Dickinson County Hospice. If love, or just plain orneriness, could have kept Bill Aron here, he wouldn’t have left us on April 25, 2020.He was born on February 25, 1941, in Franklin, Louisiana, and he never slowed down. His wonderful parents, William Thomas “Bill Tom” Aron, Sr., and Mattie Cornelia (Pratt) Aron, were in Heaven waiting for him along with his little brother, Joe Edward Aron. We assume they are lighting things on fire and blowing stuff up like in the old days. It’s safe to assume he’s up there fixing something. Grandson Tommy Trotter was waiting to show him the fishing spots.Bill didn’t want to, but leaves behind the love of his life, Mary Ellen (Lilly) Aron. Married for 60 years, he was a lucky man because no one else would have put up with him for that long.Bill also leaves behind a smart-mouthed daughter, Shai Trotter; her husband, John Trotter; grandchildren Nicole Beck, Jessica and Joe Ehrlich with daughter Nora, Jason Beck, Jr., and Lewis Trotter.He is also survived by his book-loving, sword-swinging son, Kenneth Aron; Kenny’s wife, Becky Aron; grandchildren Keith Aron, Kenton Aron, Chris and Kamella Garrison with children Kaleigh, Piper, and Fisher, and Morgan and Amanda Garrison with children Sean, Kenslie, Ellie, and Tristan.To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he will always be Papaw.Bill enjoyed two successful careers, first in the military and then working in information technology. He attended numerous schools while in the military and later took courses and earned certifications in IT.He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1958 at 17 years old. He spent four years as an avionics repair technician, working on everything from jet fighters to DC-3 transports. His time working with aircraft inspired him to be a pilot, but his imperfect eyesight prevented him from flying as a Marine. After earning his GED, spending a year in Atsugi, Japan fixing Marine aircraft and earning the rank of Lance Corporal, Bill separated from the Marine Corps and enlisted in the US Army.The Army was sufficiently desperate for helicopter pilots in Vietnam that they accepted flight school applicants with corrected 20/20 vision, which now qualified Bill as an applicant. William Thomas Aron Jr.



Junior E. Jeffrey, age 89, of Salina, formerly of Solomon, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020 at his home in Salina.

He was born November 16, 1930 in Manchester, Kansas the son of Earl E. and Thelma A. (Gasswint) Jeffrey. Following high school Junior served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

Junior was a master electrician for several years working for various companies and then had his own company called Jeffrey Electric. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

On April 18, 1953 Junior was married to Charlotte Lane in Minneapolis. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his daughters Cindy Jeffrey of Salina, Jennifer Jeffrey of Salina, Marcia Jeffrey of Salina, Wendy Jeffrey of Abilene; sons Billy Jeffrey of Abilene, Curtis Jeffrey of Salina, Douglas and his wife Twila of Enterprise; brothers Clyde Jeffrey of Wichita, Jim Jeffrey of Raiford, Florida; 21 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert and sister Marge Isaac.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, infant daughter Connie; son, Robert; and six siblings.

Phil “Eddie” Bell, 84, son of Edward and Hazel (Young) Bell was born December 7, 1935 in Abilene, Kansas. He went to heaven on Sunday, April 26, 2020 after a battle with cancer and pneumonia. Eddie was the oldest of two children, who grew up on a farmstead in New Cambria, Kansas.

Phil learned his ethics of hard work from his father, harvesting wheat and working the land. He graduated from Salina High School and went on to attend Fort Hayes University. He married the love of his life, Dixie Dalrymple, in 1959 at the United Presbyterian Church in Bennington, KS. He went on to be a successful businessman with Pillsbury company for the majority of his career. Exactly one year after their wedding date they had their first child, Christopher and shortly after, their second child, Darsi.&nbsp; Pillsbury Company took the family to Springfield, MO, Topeka, KS, Minneapolis, MN and then to Shawnee, KS, where they raised their family.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Family and friends were everything to Phil, he was known to attend any event for his children and grandchildren, whether big or small. He was an extraordinary husband, parent, grandparent and friend to everyone that met him. Always a great listener and encourager, he made everyone around him feel special, giving each and every person his undivided attention.&nbsp; As a result, his family was extremely close knit, as well as his lifelong friendships.&nbsp; His loved ones describe him as: loving, selfless, positive, thoughtful, caring, generous, their biggest cheerleader, a gracious host, a true friend and a whole lot of fun - always the life of the party.&nbsp; He was also a gentleman in every sense of the word.

Phil had many life-long hobbies. He loved boating, water-skiing, fishing, hunting, gardening, camping, traveling, and was not one to shy away from a good road trip. He frequently traveled to Lake of The Ozarks, MO and Estes Park, CO. One of his all-time favorite trips was to Hawaii, a gift to honor his service to the Pillsbury Company. Eddie took great pride in having a manicured lawn, a thriving garden (tomatoes, beets and onions were his staple) and believed most all problems could be fixed with a bacon wrapped steak.&nbsp;

He was a man of great faith.&nbsp; He knew that Jesus Christ was his Lord and savior and spent much time in prayer. Eddie’s life can be summarized as Paul wrote in II Timothy 4:7-8, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”&nbsp;&nbsp;

Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Dixie Bell of Shawnee, KS, son Chris (Penny) Bell of Bennington, KS; daughter Darsi (Mark) Eveland of Olathe, KS; sister Susie Just of Pawnee City, NE; niece Tracy (Dave) Doerr; nephew Todd Just, cousin Sheri Hunt of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren Mackenzie (Kyle) Smith of Austin, TX, Matthew Eveland of Nashville, TN, and numerous step-grandchildren.&nbsp; Phil was preceded in death by his parents, his wife’s parents, Tommy and Connie Dalrymple, and his brother-in-law, Jerry Just.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Richard Shane "Rich" Farmer, 63, of Galva, KS, passed away at 10:38 p.m., Saturday, April 25th, while in the company of family members, at his home.

Richard was born in Hoisington, Kansas on February 8, 1957, a son of Henrietta (Tausher) and Herman Farmer.

Rich attended the St. John The Evangelist Catholic School, Hoisington, Kansas.

Through the years Rich worked in the oil fields, Dillon's Grocery Store, and was currently the owner and operator of Farmer's Tree Service and Farmer's Bee's.

Rich enjoyed Bee Keeping, Fishing, being out-of doors, spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Richard Shane Farmer was united in marriage to Karen Sue Freeman Gee on July 5, 1996 in Haysville, Kansas. The couple established their first home together in Haysville. This union brought together Rich's son, Nathan and Karen's son and daughter Tony and Gina. In 2006 the couple moved to Galva.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Karen Farmer, of Galva, Kansas; his son, Nathan Farmer, of Claflin, Kansas; his step-children, Tony Gee and wife Tammy, of Blue Springs, Missouri and Gina Venable and husband Larry, of McPherson, Kansas; his sisters, Gloria Loomer and husband David, of Sidney, Montana, Kathy Scott, of Hoisington, Kansas, and Janie Boyd, of Hoisington, Kansas; his six grandchildren, Derick, Devin, Tyler, Ashley, Nicholas, and Addison; his four great-grandchildren, Theodore, Emerson, Aspen, and Kennedy; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Henrietta Farmer; and a brother, Danny Farmer.

Dianne Lenora Frank, 61, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 1:00 a.m., Sunday, April 26th, 2020 at her home.

Dianne was born in Ellinwood, Kansas on October 27, 1958, a daughter of Wilma J. (Hager) and Loren Sylvester Frank.

Dianne attended the Ellinwood grade school, and graduated from Canton-Galva High School in 1977 Canton, Kansas.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church Canton, KS.

Through the years she worked for several gas stations in McPherson, worked for Mid Tech as a Machine Operator and was a housekeeper.

Dianne enjoyed playing Bingo, her pet's, music and dancing, spending time out doors, particularly the park and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her significant other, Leonard Landrum, Sr., of McPherson, Kansas; her children, Jared Phillis and wife Jennifer, of Hutchinson, Kansas, Amber Phillis, of McPherson, Kansas, and Casandra "Casi" Landrum, of McPherson, Kansas; her brother Victor Frank, of Canton, Kansas; her six grandchildren, Brently, Kory, Nevaeh, Avery, Caiman, Jonathan; and other relatives.

Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Wilma Frank; and a brother, Larry Frank.

Dianne Lenora Frank, 61, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 1:00 a.m., Sunday, April 26th, 2020 at her home.Dianne was born in Ellinwood, Kansas on October 27, 1958, a daughter of Wilma J.
