Hicks, age 32, of Abilene, will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Golden Belt Memorial Park in Great Bend, Kansas with Reverend Don Fisher officiating. Mr. Hicks passed away Friday, July 17, 2020 at the Abilene Memorial Hospital. He was born August 15, 1987 in Wichita. Following high school Justin served his country in the United States Army medically retiring in 2017 after 12 years of dedicated service. During his tours Justin received several honors including a purple heart. On August 29, 2019 he was united in marriage to Jessica Hottman. She survives of Abilene. Other survivors include his mother Barbara Hicks and sister Brittany Keyes of Hutchinson, daughters Brooklyn Farmer and Carly Hicks, son Aiden Hicks of Abilene, brother Alex Hicks of Lakehills, Texas. Beverly Katherine Ahlstedt, 77, died July 30, 2020, in Salina. Beverly was born on October 19, 1942 to Melvin and Louise (Beverly) Ahlstedt.

Renee Nadine Shara Fangmeier was born April 11,1958 in Belleville, KS to Charles and Nadine (Blackwood) Shara. 

Renee was married to Dennis Lee Fangmeier on September 17,1983 at Belleville Wesleyan Church in Belleville, KS. 

Renee and Dennis died together in an automobile accident in Hebron, NE on July 24, 2020. Renee was 62.

Renee grew up on a farm outside of Narka, KS with three brothers and one sister. At the age of10, she was injured and lost a sister, grandmother, and uncle in a car crash. 

Renee attended elementary school and Jr. High in Narka, KS. She was active in sports and theatre at Belleville High School. She attended Brown Mackie College before returning to Belleville to work in the family’s insurance business. 

She relocated to Hebron, NE after marrying Dennis Fangmeier where she spent the remainder of her life building a family and a home together with him. 

Renee was a servant to many in the different roles she held throughout her life. Renee found great pleasure in seeing her children and grandchildren thrive. She was quick to offer her support in any way she could, never missing an opportunity to let them know how proud she was. Her children and grandchildren will dearly miss her unwavering confidence and infectious joy. 

Renee was a devoted member of the Hebron United Methodist Church. 

She found delight in caring for her pets and plants. 

She always had her eyes out for a way to help those around her. Many remember that Renee was quick with a warm smile, kind word, or thoughtful gift. She also came across as reserved to many, but to those that knew her best, she was a tireless advocate and fierce supporter: a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. 

Renee was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Nadine; her sister, Tamara Shara; her brother, James Shara; and her niece, Jamie Shara. 

Renee is survived by her children Timothy Fangmeier and wife Katy, Tonia Le and husband Kevin; brothers Richard Shara, Michael Shara and wife Kim; grandchildren Jayden and Jacob Le and Ira Fangmeier; and many other family and friends.

He was married to Renee Nadine Shara on September 17,1983 at Belleville Wesleyan Church in Belleville, KS. 

Dennis and Renee died together in an automobile accident in Hebron, NE on July 24, 2020. Dennis was 69. 

Dennis grew up on a farm outside Gilead, NE with three brothers and one sister. 

Dennis attended elementary school in Gilead and then continued on to high school in Hebron. Dennis played tuba in the band and spent much time helping out on the farm. 

Dennis loved figuring out how to make things work. Growing up, he made numerous contraptions with wheels and motors to entertain his siblings and cousins. He followed this interest to Nebraska Technical College at Milford, where he got a degree in electronics. 

Dennis started his career in Seward at Ehlers Electronic. Later, Dennis returned to Hebron where he purchased an electronics store that became Denny’s Home Entertainment. Dennis became a fixture in Hebron and the surrounding area for repairing and installing electronics over the next 40 years. 

In addition to his electronics work, Dennis could be found mowing lawns, driving school buses, and cruising around town with his wife, Renee. 

Dennis was a faithful member of the Hebron United Methodist Church. 

Over the years, he was also involved in the Hebron Lions Club, coached men’s softball in Seward and Hebron, and was a founding member of the Hebron Jaycees. 

Dennis loved spending time with friends and family. He would often drop in just to say hello and share his wit and humor. 

His children were blessed by his presence. They spent many hours in his company, and he was ready to take a phone call any time of day or night. Dennis was lately enjoying his role as Grandpa. His three grandchildren got to experience his gentle playfulness. They will dearly miss their grandpa. 

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph and Wilma Fangmeier.

Marla Joyce Hewitt, 78, of Council Grove, Kansas passed away with family by her side, at Morris County Hospital, July 29, 2020.

She was born August 13, 1941, the daughter of Leslie and Margaret Thimes Bass, in Emporia, Kansas.&nbsp; She attended Americus High School.&nbsp; Marla married the love of her life, Jimmy Hewitt on December 21, 1958.&nbsp; They had three children: John, Mary and James.

Marla was a lifelong member of Council Grove Christian Church.&nbsp;&nbsp; Marla worked at various jobs throughout her lifetime.&nbsp; She worked as a cook and retired from USD 417 after 10 years of service. Marla loved taking care of her husband Jimmy…he was her world! She loved cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jimmy; son John Hewitt; brother Bob Bass; and sister Elaine Casper.&nbsp; Marla is survived by her daughter Mary Hewitt and fiancé’ Lee Garrett and James (Bill) Hewitt and fiancé’ Nicole Hobbs; sister Jeanette Borgs; daughter-in-law Carol Hewitt; brothers: Tom and Dan Bass; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.&nbsp; Marla will be sadly missed by all.

Clayton's life began on December 3, 1934 in Benton, KS.  He was the son of Arthur and Erlean G. (Berg) Hamm. 

 Clayton was a 1952 graduate of Marion High School. 

 He was united in marriage to Wanda Lubinus on November 22, 1953 in Claflin, KS and they enjoyed 66 years of marriage.  

Clayton started his working life working for the Riddle Quarry and then later transitioned to hauling bulk milk, picked up on the farm and delivered to the dairy.  He worked for American Milk Producers when it was Tip Top Dairy, and later went to work hauling ice cream for Baskin-Robbins out of Hillsboro. 

 Clayton was happiest driving truck, hauling anything to anywhere.  Even in his retirement he went to work hauling wheat on the Siefert farm. 

 Clayton enjoyed NASCAR and driving trucks.  

He was a good provider, husband, and father to his family. 

 Clayton's loving family includes his wife Wanda Hamm of Marion, children Shirley (John) Riffel of Newton, and Dennis (Grace) Hamm of Jefferson, SD; grandchildren Mandy (Brad) Thomas of Mission, Justin (Erin) Hamm of Logansport, IN, Jaque' (Dale) Schoenherr of Sioux City, IA, Jennifer (NIck Robinson) Smith of Logansport, IN and Daniel Delgadillo of Sioux City, IA; great grandchildren Nash, Jace, Dylan, Hunter, Taylor, Bella and Melody; brother Garry Hamm of Marion and several nieces and nephews. 

 Clayton passed away at St. Luke's Living Center on Monday July 27, 2020. 

 He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Larry and Dale Hamm and sister Marjorie Hamm.

Clayton Dean Hamm

Lee Roy White, 80 of Abilene passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020. He was born February 9, 1940 in Salina, the son of William and Betty B. (Truitt) White. 

In 1958 he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving 4 years active and totaling 26 years with active and reserves. 

On February 2, 1985 he was united in marriage to Diane Denise Southward in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. 

Lee worked for the California Highway Patrol for 25 years before moving to Abilene. 

Lee is survived by his loving wife Denise, four sons - Robert White (Cindy), Randy White (Terry), James White and Greg White, and one daughter, Melody White, two step-daughters - Medina Earl (Jeffrey) and Demecia Segura, six grandchildren and two sisters, Rosa Lee Northam (Richard) and Mary Miller and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

The family has chosen cremation. Private family services will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials be given to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in care of Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW Third St., Abilene, Kansas 67410.

In 1958 he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving 4 years active and totaling 26 years with active and reserves. On February 2, 1985 he was united in marriage to Diane Denise Southward in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Lee worked for the California Highway Patrol for 25 years before moving to Abilene. KIPP -&nbsp;Harry Stanley "Stan" Koglerlost his battle with bullous pemphigoid on July 26, 2020. He passed peacefully, surrounded by family. He was a devoted husband, father, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, neighbor and friend to all who knew him. Stan lived his entire 83 years in the Kipp area and was a self-taught country electrician, plumber and farmer. As a youngster his fondest memories were playing baseball and basketball with Don Johnson and Gerald Swanson, riding horseback to school with George Currie and drag racing with Charlie Waddle. At the young age of 22 he married Joan Totten Seim after she lost her husband and his best friend Gale Seim. Stan helped raise and adopted her two children Larry Kogler Seim and Pam Kogler Seim Beardmore. The couple had a third child Duane Kogler.

If you ever had an electrical or plumbing issue and lived in the country and within a 50-mile radius of Kipp, Stan probably helped you fix it. As a "jack of all trades" Stan was the last of a dying breed. He was also a grain farmer, often helped by nephew Ron in the later years. Stan was an avid hunter of game birds on the home place. But one of his biggest highlights was shooting and dressing a record 7-point bull elk in Colorado where he and Joan would go hunting every October. The trophy still hangs in his home office.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Lucille; sister, Darlene.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; son, Larry and wife Laura, their children Michael and Meredith; daughter, Pam and husband Dave, their children, Allison, Madison, Emily; son, Duane and wife Karen, their children, Matthew, Daniel and Katie; great-grandchildren, Charli, Kimbal, Sloane; brother, Marvin and wife Anabelle; sister: Carolyn.

Service will be streamed live at&nbsp;<a href="http://www.triumc.org/stan-kogler" target="_blank">www.triumc.org/stan-kogler</a>&nbsp;on Thursday, July 30 at 11 a.m. A memorial celebration will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Gypsum Valley Cemetery in Gypsum, Kansas.

Wilma Jean McNee was born in Clay County on September 26, 1926 to James and Viola (Angelo) Fyfe. Wilma was raised in the Oak Hill area and was a graduate of Miltonvale High School.&nbsp; She married Elmo McNee on October 14, 1944. He preceded her on January 23, 1993.&nbsp; They made their home in Clay Center.&nbsp; Wilma enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, doing embroidery, and making quilt tops.&nbsp; She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Forshee; brother, Ray Fyfe and granddaughter, Lisa Marie Lang.&nbsp; Wilma was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Clay Center.

Wilma Jean McNee

Richard “Dick” Lee Swenson, age 70 of Concordia, Kansas died Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Dick was born on October 14, 1949 in Concordia, Kansas to Emil and Helen Margaret (Benson) Swenson. Dick was baptized on Feb. 21, 1960 and grew up in the Concordia Baptist Church. He attended Sibley School (one-room school) through the eighth grade and graduated from Concordia High School in 1967. Dick then graduated from Cloud County Community College in 1969, and in 1971, he received a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Industry from Kansas State University. Following graduation, he began a 40-year career working for Moorman Feed/ADM in several communities and became a district manager in Iowa before moving to Marysville, Kanas to be closer to the family farm. While in Marysville, he met the love of his life, Denise.

In April of 1977, Dick moved to Concordia, Kansas to begin farming. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church and married Denise Duensing on July 30, 1977 in Marysville, Kansas. They were blessed with three sons: Ryan (1980), Kevin (1984), and Benjamin (1988). As a father, he instilled in his children a strong faith in God and the love of God’s creation. Dick farmed for 43 years and continued developing the Swenson family’s Registered Horned Hereford cattle – receiving the Breeder of the Year award from the Kansas Hereford Association in 2012.

In 2015, Dick, Denise, and Ryan purchased Duis Meat Processing in Concordia and Smoky River Meats in Salina. In 2019, Dick and Denise were nominated and were received into the annual Master Farmer/Master Farm Homemaker class at Kansas State University. Dick loved his family deeply. As a father, he never missed school events, games, or 4-H activities. Nothing stood between Dick and a K-State game – he made sure to pass his love for K-State sports on to everyone in his family. He was also the world’s best grandpa to three grandsons.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Melvin Duensing. Survivors include his wife, Denise; children, Ryan (Melissa) of Concordia; Kevin and his son Nolan of Concordia; Benjamin (Jennifer) and their sons Walter and Gabriel of Phillipsburg; Brother Edward (Judy) of Emory, Texas; mother-in-law, Arlene Duensing of Marysville, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Cloud County Fairgrounds Commercial Building with Rev. Richard “Dick” Lee Swenson

&nbsp; William F. (Bud) Potter, 80, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020. He was born February 5, 1940 in Junction City, the son of Walter F. and Ferne J. (Nelson) Potter. 

Growing up in Abilene, he attended local schools and graduated from West Plains, Missouri High School with the class of 1958. 

As a young man, he competed in rodeos as a bull rider while training as a plumber and working construction. He worked for USD 475 and retired in 2002 as a master plumber. 

Bud had a life-long love of raising greyhounds. 

On March 22, 1969, he married Mary McCoy, spending their married life in rural Abilene.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Abilene; daughter, Beth Gentry of Wichita; son, Brent Potter of Abilene; sister, Janie Hicks of Salina; 2 brothers, Rick Potter and Dan Potter of Abilene; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Family visitation will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, July 30, 2020 followed by an 11:00 AM memorial. Bud had chosen cremation. Services will be held at the LifeHouse Church in Abilene officiated by Chris Danielson. Danner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Betty Boaz, 91, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020. She was born November 29, 1928 in Selma, California to her parents Matsuzo &nbsp;and Tsuya Kuwano. She lived in Santa Maria, California for 13 years until 1942, when the family was relocated to a Japanese internment camp in Gila, Arizona. On Christmas Day, 1945, the family went from camp to Japan. &nbsp;She worked at the Sasebo Naval Base as a secretary, where she met her future husband, Kenneth Boaz. They were married 72 years and had nine children: Curtis Boaz, Elizabeth Polly, Cathy Boaz (Aloha), Genie Boaz, Karl Boaz (Becky), Rose Davied (Joe), Mitch Boaz (Jewel), Marla Boaz (Jeff), and Denise Boaz. There are 13 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Many more called her “Mom”. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth; her parents, 3 sisters; and her son Curtis. &nbsp;She is survived by her brother Hisao, 3 nieces and a nephew, all of California. She was a beautiful lady with style and grace. Her smile could light up a room. She took great pride in her family, her work ethic, and her lovely garden. She had many lifelong friends. &nbsp;We were all lucky to have her in our lives; she will be sorely missed. &nbsp;We love you and we thank you Mom. Betty Boaz

Wesley E Alexander, 63, died Sunday, July 19, 2020 in Clay County, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born on October 31, 1956 to Newell and Doris (Sloan) Alexander in Red Cloud, Nebraska.

Wes was a 1975 graduate of Mankato High School and earned a BS in Animal Science and Industry from Kansas State University in 1979.&nbsp; To begin his career, he worked in the banking industry across North Central and Central Kansas prior to pursuing his Registered Nursing degree where he worked until his retirement in 2019.

Wes was an avid sports fan.&nbsp; He loved all sports, and particularly enjoyed following K-State, the Royals, and Chiefs over the years.&nbsp; Another of his passions was farming which provided many years of enjoyment working along side his parents and brothers.&nbsp; There were not many conversations that took place with Wes that did not involve how the crops looked or how much (or little) rain was received on the original family farm between Mankato and Burr Oak, Kansas.

Wes is survived by his mother, Doris Alexander, Mankato, KS; sons, Brady Alexander (Samantha), Spring Hill, KS and Cortney Alexander (Van), Shawnee, KS; brothers Wade Alexander (Lynette), Mankato, KS, Wray Alexander, Orlando, FL, Wiley Alexander (Bert), Washington, KS, and Wynn Alexander, Coldwater, KS; grandchildren, Parker, Rowan, Liam, Maren, and one on the way; along with many more nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Newell Alexander, and sister, Denise Ann Alexander.

Visitation will be held August 7, 2020 from 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Melby Mortuary.&nbsp; A celebration of life service for Wes will be held in Mankato, KS on August 8, 2020.&nbsp; Due to the unfortunate Covid-19 circumstances only immediate family will be present.&nbsp; Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato, KS.&nbsp;

 </figure>Wesley E Alexander, 63, died Sunday, July 19, 2020 in Clay County, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born on October 31, 1956 to Newell and Doris (Sloan) Alexander in Red Cloud, Nebraska.Wes was a 1975 graduate of Mankato High School and earned a BS in Animal Science and Industry from Kansas State University in 1979.&nbsp; To begin his career, he worked in the banking industry across North Central and Central Kansas prior to pursuing his Registered Nursing degree where he worked until his retirement in 2019.Wes was an avid sports fan.&nbsp; He loved all sports, and particularly enjoyed following K-State, the Royals, and Chiefs over the years.&nbsp; Another of his passions was farming which provided many years of enjoyment working along side his parents and brothers.&nbsp; There were not many conversations that took place with Wes that did not involve how the crops looked or how much (or little) rain was received on the original family farm between Mankato and Burr Oak, Kansas.Wes is survived by his mother, Doris Alexander, Mankato, KS; sons, Brady Alexander (Samantha), Spring Hill, KS and Cortney Alexander (Van), Shawnee, KS; brothers Wade Alexander (Lynette), Mankato, KS, Wray Alexander, Orlando, FL, Wiley Alexander (Bert), Washington, KS, and Wynn Alexander, Coldwater, KS; grandchildren, Parker, Rowan, Liam, Maren, and one on the way; along with many more nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his father, Newell Alexander, and sister, Denise Ann Alexander.Visitation will be held August 7, 2020 from 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Melby Mortuary.&nbsp; A celebration of life service for Wes will be held in Mankato, KS on August 8, 2020.&nbsp; Due to the unfortunate Covid-19 circumstances only immediate family will be present.&nbsp; Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato, KS.&nbsp;The family suggest memorials be made to the Jewell County Food Pantry in Mankato, KS, in care of Melby Mortuary.

Larry G. Moreno, 68, passed away Friday, July 24, 2020. He was born in Garden City to Juan and Santos (Gomez) Moreno.

Larry proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Vietnam veteran.

One of Larry's passions was to volunteer in the community. He used his bilingual skills to help at the hospital and to translate documents for non-native English speakers. He also helped with the Red Cross Disaster Relief and was a member of his church prayer group.

Larry was preceded by his parents and five siblings.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maria Moreno; children, Christina (James) Byrd, Larry Jr. (Alondra) Moreno, Jessica Moreno, David Moreno, Monica (Alfredo) Moreno, Elias Moreno, Alfredo (Jessica) Moreno; 25 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five siblings.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2020 with a rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 28th all at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina. Burial will follow in All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Salina. Face masks will be required.

Paul T. Rimovsky, age 83, died Saturday, July 25, 2020 at his home in Concordia, KS.&nbsp; He was born on November 15, 1936 in Norfolk, NE to Adolph “Babe” &amp; Eva (Goldsworthy) Rimovsky.

Paul graduated from high school in Norfolk and received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Wayne State University.&nbsp; Paul taught music and band for 5 years in Nebraska.&nbsp; He married Dixie Hansen and to this union was born, Sheri, Kristi and David.&nbsp; They later divorced.

Paul came to Concordia in 1964 and began working at Tom’s Music House, where he later became the owner and operator of the store.&nbsp; Paul was an active member of the Concordia community and was involved in all aspects of promoting Concordia and Cloud County.&nbsp; He was a founding member and President of the POW Camp Concordia Preservation Society.&nbsp; Paul was active in the Cloud County Museum, Concordia Lions Club, National Orphan Train Museum, Brown Grand Theatre and was instrumental in beginning Youth for Music.&nbsp; Paul received several awards throughout his life including the Marian D. Cook Legacy Award from Cloud County Community College, the Kansas Band Masters Assoc. Lifetime Award and the Leon Gennette Award for Lifetime Achievement for Community Service.

Paul was blessed by his longtime friend, Marie Dochow until she preceded him in 2016.

Paul T. Rimovsky

Rocky Pfeifer, 61, loving husband, father, and Papa, passed away unexpectedly at his home Monday, July 20th, 2020. Rocky, a Hays native, was born to Rudy and Irma (Befort) Pfeifer in November of 1958. He spent most of his childhood living in Hays and Russell where he enjoyed all the freedoms of small-town living. As Rocky entered high school, his family moved to Salina where he joined the South High football and track team. Prior to graduation, his family made a move to Osborne which is where he finished out his senior year. For a few years after graduation, Rocky stayed in Osborne to help with the family restaurant, but he eventually came back to Salina to build a life of his own. It was then that he started working in food service management but transitioned to retail management when he joined the Kmart team. In 1997 he married the love of his life, Andrea. Five years later they decided it was time to make a change, so they purchased a retail business of their own, which he happily ran for the past eighteen years.

Rocky was hard working and extremely personable. It did not matter how young or how old a person was, if he had just met you or if he had seen you one hundred times, he was always able to find a way to relate and connect. With that being the case, it was not a surprise that people always gathered around him or that a quick trip to anywhere would end up being a not so quick trip. Although he did not have much free time, what time he did have he loved spending it with family.

Rocky was preceded in death by both of his parents. He was survived by his wife Andrea Pfeifer, five children - Brock Pfeifer (wife Bere), Chris Pfeifer, Ashli Taylor (husband Zack), Jamie Pfeifer, Ridge Saldibar, and eight grandchildren - Karady, Katie, Bayli, Gabe, Parker, Haemish, Myles, and Esmeralda. He leaves behind three brothers - Butch Pfeifer (wife Kelly), Rick Pfeifer (wife Missi), Dan Pfeifer (wife Athena), and two sisters - Roxanne Becker (husband Mike), Rebecca Nichols. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

&nbsp; Janice Cathleen Smith, 55, of McPherson, KS, passed away at 4:05 p.m., Thursday, July 23rd, suddenly, at her home. Janice was born in Monterey, California on May 6, 1965, a daughter of John Reed Williams and Judy (Thatch) Williams. Due to her dad in the military, Janice attended many schools all over the United States, and later got her GED from Emporia High School, Emporia, Kansas. She then received her Nurses Aide Certificate from Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson, Kansas. Janice was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. Through the years Janice worked at many different places as a cook and a laborer. Janice was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxilary both of McPherson. Janice enjoyed playing pool, listening to music and singing right along, and spending time at the lake with family and friends. She loved her grandkids and always looked forward to their visits. Janice Cathleen Williams was united in marriage John Smith. This union was blessed with the birth of two sons, Bryan and Jason. Janice was blessed with love from Ray Anderson all heart and soul. Janice Cathleen Smith

Jessica's life began on April 4, 1984 in Lawrence, KS.  She was the daughter of Darren Smith and Judy Kay Bickford. 

 Jessica was a 2003 graduate of Centre High School. 

 She was happiest spending time with friends and family. 

 Jessica enjoyed visiting the zoo, going to concerts and just being out the friends. 

 She had a helper's heart and was always there for her family and friends. 

 Her loving family includes her mother Judy (Bobby Thornhill) Bickford of Ramona; father Darren (Nicole) Smith of Tenn.; daughter Abagail Smith of Florence; siblings Chelsea (Andrew) Weber of Cedar Point, Jeremy Smith, Noah Smith and Jadean Smith of Tenn. and Jess Birdwell  of Tenn.; and her nephews Tucker and Paul Weber. 

 Jessica passed away at her home on July 22, 2020. 

 Her family will gather with friends at a later date to celebrate her life.  Yazel-Megli Funeral Home is serving the family.

Norma was born on June 29, 1930, in Geneseo, KS, the daughter of John William and Georgia Belle (Taylor) Stackhouse. On April 9, 1955, Norma was united in marriage to Richard Eldon Myers in McPherson, KS. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2009. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, McPherson. Survivors include: two sons, David Myers and wife, Jennifer, of McPherson, KS and Steven Myers and wife, April, of Apache Junction, AZ; a daughter, Laurel Maloan and husband, Brian, of Garnett, KS; four grandchildren, Whitney Barnes (Keegan), Kaleigh Oestreicher (Aaron), Tyler Maloan, and Sydney Myers; three great-grandchildren, Braxton Barnes, Brailyn Barnes, and Briar Barnes. Robert "Bob" Hansmann&nbsp;passed away July 21, 2020. He was born July 8, 1925 in Moorhead, Minnesota to Clara and Tony Hansmann. No one could have had a more caring and loving Mom and Dad.

Just out of high school Bob enlisted in the Merchant Marines as WWII was ongoing.

During a leave of absence during the war, he was married to his high school sweetheart Lois Miller on October 8, 1945 at St. Joseph's Church in Moorhead. While living in Moorhead, Lois and Bob were blessed with four children, Rick, Marilyn, Nancy and Carol. After moving to Salina, they were blessed with the birth of Theresa "Terri."

Bob was proceeded in death by his Mom and Dad; his loving wife of 62 years, Lois; his brother, Jim; his sister, Mary; his son-in-law, Jon Fuhrman; and his beloved daughter, Theresa "Terri."

He is survived by his son Rick (Marlene) Hansmann; daughters, Marilyn Fuhrman, Nancy Arrowsmith, Carol Garrett and former daughter-in-law, Pat Veach. His Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren and Great-great grandchildren: Tony (Gina) Hansmann (A.J. and Brady), Tonya Voltolina (Dakota, Olivia and Andrew), Erin McLean (Bailey Barry and Ella McLean), Clayton Thompson (Apollo and Amory), Aryk Weiss (Vincinnt), Jordan Peckham, Zach Weiss, Christian Weiss, Sean Fuhrman, Shanda (Mike) Baker (Ariel Craine and Ashton Craine), Travis (Carrie) Arrowsmith (Elijah, Charlotte and Samuel), Ryan Arrowsmith (Rigley), Nicole (Tom) Billings (Ashley, Katelyn, Emily, Haley and Riley), Phillip Garrett (Dane and Dash) and Allen Hansmann.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 27, at Sacred Heart Cathedral with burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Salina. The Knights of Columbus Council 601 and Salina VFW Post 1432 will be providing honors.

Leo Thomas Roesner, 57, passed away unexpectedly at his home Tuesday, July 21, 2020.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Malin Tornberg of the home; stepdaughter, Emilia (Victor) Forsberg; and granddaughter Tyra of Lulea, Sweden. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Oâ€™Shea Roesner; sisters, Clara (Patrick) Hilger, Louise (Brian) Dunn, Joni Carver, Theresa White, Mary Katherine (Vaughn) Isaacson; brother, David (Karen) Roesner; and many nieces, nephews, and friends to mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; and brother, Jim.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2020 with a rosary and vigil service at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Salina. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 25th at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Solomon, KS. Inurnment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.

James M. Mize, 86, of Salina, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020. He was born August 28, 1933 in Springdale, AR.

He served in the Army, worked as an Airplane Mechanic and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Salina.

There will be no services at this time, as cremation was chosen.
