Thomas “Tom” M. Price, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at his home in Concordia, KS surrounded by his family.&nbsp; He was born on December 23, 1946 in Concordia, KS to Keith M. and Hazel G. (Sterling) Price.

Tom graduated from Concordia High School in 1964.&nbsp; He attended a semester at Cloud County before enlisting in the U.S. Navy and served his country for three years and nine months as a Navy corpsman.&nbsp; He served a tour in Vietnam assisting the U.S. Marines as medical ground support.&nbsp; He was a recipient of a Purple Heart and the Navy Commendation with V device.

Tom married Diane Brunell on October 5, 1968, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kansas City, MO.&nbsp; They have been married for 53 years.&nbsp; Tom worked as an X-ray technician for the St. Joseph Hospital in Concordia, KS for 28 years and later served as a rural mail carrier in Belleville, KS for 15 years and seven months.&nbsp;

Tom was an avid golfer and was a member of the Concordia Country Club, American Legion Golf Course and then Concordia Golf &amp; Wellness where he played on men’s night and with Diane for Friday Scotch Foursomes.&nbsp; He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years.&nbsp; He was a member of the American Legion Post #76, VFW Post #588 and later, Clyde VFW Post #7515.

He is survived by his wife Diane, Concordia, KS; sons Ryan Price (Kris), Concordia, KS and Rob Price (Sheri), Johnstown, CO; granddaughters Kacie Price, Concordia, KS and Brynn and Jules Price, Johnstown, CO; sister Karen Huffman (Hershel), Salina, KS and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded by his parents; brothers Norman and Richard Price and sisters Donna Buck, Bonnie Yount and Diann Mason.

Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, KS with Fr. David Metz officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, KS with military honors conducted by the U.S. Navy and American Legion Post #76.&nbsp; Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. and the family greeting friends after the rosary all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, KS.&nbsp; 

The family suggests memorials to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church or Catholic Charities, all in care of the funeral home.&nbsp;

Sister Anne Martin Reinert died June 8, 2022, at Nazareth Motherhouse in Concordia, KS.&nbsp; She was 90 years old and a Sister of St. Joseph for 71 years. &nbsp;She was born in Seguin, KS, on August 13, 1931, to Theodore and Anna Geerdes Reinert, the second of nine children, and was baptized Irene Katherine.&nbsp; 

She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph, Concordia, KS on September 8, 1950.&nbsp; On March 19, 1951, Irene Katherine received the habit of the Sisters of St. Joseph and was given the name Sister Anne Martin.&nbsp; She pronounced first vows on March 19, 1952 and final vows on March 19, 1955.

In 1955 Sister Anne Martin Reinert graduated from Marymount College, Salina, with a degree in nursing.&nbsp; She served in institutions staffed by the Sisters of St. Joseph in Manhattan, Concordia, and Junction City, KS, and El Paso, TX.&nbsp; After retiring from nursing, Sister Anne Martin moved to the Motherhouse in 2002 and continued to stay active by providing nursing care to residents at the Motherhouse until fully retiring in 2016.&nbsp;

Sister Anne Martin Reinert was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.&nbsp; 

She is survived by three sisters, Caroline Jacobs, Janet Berger and Ruth Reinert; and two brothers, Wilfrid and Dennis.&nbsp; 

A Bible Vigil Service will be held on Monday, June 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Nazareth Motherhouse Chapel with Sister Judy Stephens as the eulogist.&nbsp; The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, June 14 at 10:30 a.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel, Father Barry Brinkman presiding.&nbsp; The burial will be in the Nazareth Motherhouse Cemetery.&nbsp; Chaput-Buoy Mortuary, 325 W. 6th&nbsp;St., Concordia, KS is in charge of arrangements.&nbsp;

Wesley Joseph “Wes” Shultis, 38, of Marquette passed away, surrounded by his family, Saturday, June 4, 2022 at home in Marquette.  Wesley was born August 27, 1983, in Colorado Springs, CO to Allen Shultis  and the late Kari Swanson.  

Wes was a high school graduate and worked as a mechanic and machinist in the local area.  Wes enjoyed family, friends, fun, and fireworks.  Those that knew and loved Wes knew that he was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.  If there was anything he loved more than the Cowboys, it was his children, Kaison and Elise.  They were and forever will be his pride and joy.

Survivors include his daughter Elise Shultis; son Kaison Shultis; father Allen Shultis (Candy); second parents Chris and Lori Alstatt; brother Cody Alstatt (Heidi) of Wichita, KS; sisters Chendra Mitchell (Brian) of Marquette, KS, Karissa Hoffman (Asbjorn) of McPherson, KS, Caitlin Arbuckle (Kyle) of Marquette, KS, Noell Alstatt of Marquette, KS, and Bree Miller (Garett) of McPherson, KS, grandparents Leon and Donna Swanson; as well as eight nieces and nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.

Howard F. Larkins, the son of Frank Larkins and Florence (Eickman) Larkins, was born September 17, 1923 in rural Belleville, Kansas and passed away on&nbsp;January 3, 2022 in Aurora, Colorado at the age of 98.

Howard grew up in rural Belleville, Kansas on the family farm, graduating from Belleville High School.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In his early years, he worked at the gas station in Chester and the port of entry.

He served with the U. S. Army during WWII in the European Theater, receiving the Purple Heart.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Following his discharge, he returned to the area and was a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal service for many years until his retirement.

He was united in marriage to Ruby Shimic and to this union were born:&nbsp;Shelly, Darrell, and Larry.&nbsp;&nbsp; The couple made their home in Belleville and later Concordia, Kansas.&nbsp; &nbsp;She preceded him in death in 2008.

Howard was a member of the VFW and the American Legion Post in Belleville, KS.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He also was a member of the Coin Collectors Club.&nbsp;&nbsp;Howard liked antiques, rock hunting, and yard sales.&nbsp;&nbsp; He loved being with this family and his dogs.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruby; sons Darrell in 1994 and Larry in 1988; two brothers, Max and Gene, and one sister, Pauline.

He is survived by one daughter, Shelly Larkins of Aurora, Colorado;&nbsp;grandchildren Ryan Ford, Sherry Phillips, and Sandy Hendrix; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Kathrine’s life began May 14, 1947, in Kansas City, MO. She was the daughter of Harold C. and Betty S. (Shirk) Harvey. Kathrine was a 1965 graduate of Remington High School. 

She worked as a clerk for Kleppers convenience store. 

Kathrine is survived by her children Rena (Tim) McCullough of Cushing, OK, Sandra Foster of Panama City, FL, Clifford Foster of Haysville, KS, Christina Karanja of Wichita, and Sarah Reitz of Wichita; sister Rena Majerus; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and two nephews Gregory and David Majerus.&nbsp; 

Kathrine passed away at her home on June 7, 2022. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Brenda Cobb. 

Her family will gather with friends on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater for her funeral service at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Kathrine will be laid to rest in Green Valley Cemetery, Furley.

Kathrine is survived by her children Rena (Tim) McCullough of Cushing, OK, Sandra Foster of Panama City, FL, Clifford Foster of Haysville, KS, Christina Karanja of Wichita, and Sarah Reitz of Wichita; sister Rena Majerus; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and two nephews Gregory and David Majerus.&nbsp; Kathrine passed away at her home on June 7, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Brenda Cobb. Kathrine Louise Castillo

Don Lauver passed away on June 5,&nbsp;2022&nbsp;at Eagle Point Nursing Home in Clinton, Iowa.

Don was born April 11, 1930, in Elliot, Iowa to Clarence and Goldie (Keith) Lauver. &nbsp;Don had three sisters: Dorothy&nbsp;Inloes&nbsp;of Quinter, Kansas (died on December 14, 2019). &nbsp;Don is survived by his sisters Charlene Lauver of McGregor, Texas and Marlene Robertson of Springfield, Missouri.

Don was preceded in death by Donna (Rinkel) Lauver. They were married on October 23,&nbsp;1955&nbsp;in Wichita, Kansas. Donna died on November 18, 2006. &nbsp;Their son Danny died June 2, 1992. &nbsp;

Don is survived by sons; David of St. Paul, Minnesota and Dennis (married to Rhonda) of Clinton, Iowa. &nbsp;Don has four grandchildren: Alicia&nbsp;Flinner&nbsp;of North Mankato, Minnesota, Aaron&nbsp;Flinner&nbsp;of Burnsville, Minnesota, Max Lauver of Henderson,&nbsp;Nebraska&nbsp;and Mason Lauver of Henderson, Nebraska.&nbsp;

After being born in southwestern Iowa, his family moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma when Don was 7 years old. When Don was 12 years old, his family moved to McPherson, Kansas. Don graduated from McPherson High School. He enjoyed delivering papers, working in a grocery&nbsp;store and at a locally owned ready-to-wear clothing store. &nbsp;More than once, he was told that he had “grown up on Main Street McPherson!” &nbsp;Don went on several&nbsp;long distance Boy Scout camping trips including Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, the Black Hills in&nbsp;South Dakota&nbsp;and Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.

When he was 20 years old, Don was promoted to assistant manager of a JM McDonald Co. store and then worked for regional and national retailers for 20 years. &nbsp;Don was then in direct sales for 30 more years.

In addition to being active in the Methodist churches in locations where Don and his family lived,&nbsp;Don spent 63 years as a registered Boy Scout and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award by the Viking Council in Minneapolis Minnesota. &nbsp;The award was in recognition of Don's record of service and work in the community. &nbsp;He was found to have provided a noteworthy history of service and&nbsp;an example of&nbsp;exceptional character to many youth over the years. &nbsp;Don was an Eagle Scout, as is one of his sons and one grandson.

Don was active in The Lions Club over the decades and served as Club President in Ottawa, Kansas, Wichita,&nbsp;Kansas&nbsp;and Willmar, Minnesota. &nbsp;He enjoyed being in The Lions Club in Clinton, Iowa.

In addition to being a husband,&nbsp;dad&nbsp;and grandpa, one of the best memories for Don was the trips he won when he was in direct sales. &nbsp;For example, he once won a trip to Hawaii for him and Donna.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Friday June 10, 2022 at the First United Methodist in Salina, Kansas.&nbsp;Burial to follow at McPherson Cemetery in McPherson, Kansas.

He enjoyed delivering papers, working in a grocery&nbsp;store and at a locally owned ready-to-wear clothing store. &nbsp;More than once, he was told that he had “grown up on Main Street McPherson!” &nbsp;Don went on several&nbsp;long distance Boy Scout camping trips including Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, the Black Hills in&nbsp;South Dakota&nbsp;and Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.When he was 20 years old, Don was promoted to assistant manager of a JM McDonald Co. store and then worked for regional and national retailers for 20 years. &nbsp;Don was then in direct sales for 30 more years.In addition to being active in the Methodist churches in locations where Don and his family lived,&nbsp;Don spent 63 years as a registered Boy Scout and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award by the Viking Council in Minneapolis Minnesota. &nbsp;The award was in recognition of Don's record of service and work in the community. &nbsp;He was found to have provided a noteworthy history of service and&nbsp;an example of&nbsp;exceptional character to many youth over the years. &nbsp;Don was an Eagle Scout, as is one of his sons and one grandson.Don was active in The Lions Club over the decades and served as Club President in Ottawa, Kansas, Wichita,&nbsp;Kansas&nbsp;and Willmar, Minnesota. &nbsp;He enjoyed being in The Lions Club in Clinton, Iowa.In addition to being a husband,&nbsp;dad&nbsp;and grandpa, one of the best memories for Don was the trips he won when he was in direct sales. &nbsp;For example, he once won a trip to Hawaii for him and Donna.Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Friday June 10, 2022 at the First United Methodist in Salina, Kansas.&nbsp;Burial to follow at McPherson Cemetery in McPherson, Kansas.Memorial gifts are suggested to be made to the Boy Scouts of America. &nbsp;For more information or to leave condolences go to <a href="http://www.ryanmortuary.com">www.ryanmortuary.com</a>.

Marjorie Gregory passed away on May 29, 2022, at the age of 92 years, in San Antonio, Texas.

Born at home in Narka, Kansas on April 7, 1930, to Emma and Tony Brabec, Marjorie was the youngest of three, a sister to older brothers Virgil and Earl. When Marjorie was 12, her older brother Virgil died from polio.

After Marjorie graduated from Narka High School, she attended St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in Lincoln Nebraska, where she earned her RN degree. While working as a nurse in Lincoln, Marjorie met her future husband, Bobby Gregory. They married on February 10, 1953 at the Presbyterian Church in Mahaska, Kansas.

The newlyweds moved to San Francisco, California, where Bobby served in the U.S. Marine Corps. In 1957—after the birth of three daughters—the family of five moved to Oahu, Hawaii. Bobby was later transferred to Camp Pendleton and the family settled in Vista, California. Marjorie continued to work as an RN at Tri-City Hospital and as an office nurse for surgeons Phillip Wilson, MD, and John Adams, MD, in Oceanside, California.

Bobby retired from the Marines in 1969 and built a home for his family in an unincorporated area of Vista. He began working for the U.S. Postal Service in 1970, until his untimely death in 1972. Marjorie continued supporting her daughters, increasing her nursing skills to specialize in gastroenterology (GI) procedures. She worked at the Center of Endoscopy in Oceanside until she retired at age 75.

After retirement, Marjorie continued serving her community as a volunteer at the Temecula Police Department in Temecula, California. Wanting to remain close to her daughters, she moved to Texas in 2012.

Preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, grandparents and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles, Marjorie is survived by her three daughters, Linda James of San Antonio, Texas; Elizabeth Wawersich of Minnesota; and Antonia Gregory of Allen, Texas. Five grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive her.

Marjorie will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Bobby, and among her cherished family at the National Cemetery in Narka, Kansas. Graveside services will be held at National Cemetery on Friday, June 10th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m.

Given Marjorie’s continued love of animals, her family requests donations are made to your local animal shelter in lieu of flowers.

Tammy’s life began on April 5, 1968, in Abilene, Kansas. She was the daughter of Larry Lauxman and Wanda (Jennings) Turner. Tammy was a 1986 graduate of Hope High School. 

She was employed by Legacy of Herington in the laundry department for many years. She enjoyed painting ceramics and her favorite quote she put on her social media page was “Love The Way You Want To Be Loved.” 

Tammy’s loving family includes her mother Wanda Turner of Hope, siblings Tonya Johnson of Hope, Aaron (Tina) Lauxman of Hope, Larry Lauxman, Jr. of Hope and Toni (Marc) Riffel of Woodbine, stepbrothers Ron (Teri) Turner of Scott City, Kansas, and Glen Turner of Scott City, Kansas; nieces and nephews Colby (Dea) Riffel, Kylie Riffel, Cody (Shyanne) Riffel, Alissa (Tyler) Emery, and Brian Lauxman; and six great-nieces and nephews. 

Tammy passed away on Sunday June 5, 2022, at Salina Regional Medical Center. 

She is preceded in death by her father Larry Lauxman, Sr., and stepfather Clayton Turner. 

Her family will gather with friends on Saturday June 11, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Hope Cemetery for her graveside memorial service led by Pastor Gary Schrader.

Lisa Kay Jones, age 57, of Belleville, Kansas, left this earthly life on Sunday, June 5, 2022 surrounded by her family at her home in Belleville, Kansas.&nbsp; She was born on July 31, 1964 in Topeka, Kansas to Gale and Sue (Cales) Atherton.

Lisa graduated from Concordia High School in the Class of 1982.

She married Russ Jones and they were married for 25 years.&nbsp; They later divorced.&nbsp; To this union two children were born, Tara and Kyle.

Lisa was a daycare provider for several years. &nbsp;She also worked for 13 years for Krier Mower and Electric.&nbsp; After moving to Belleville Lisa began working at the Republic County Highway Department and later Food Mart.

She was a member of the Jamestown United Methodist Church.

Lisa loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren and attending all her family's sports activities.&nbsp; She also loved spending her spare time in the garden, caring for her many beautiful flowers.

Lisa is survived by her son Kyle Jones (Julie Gieber), Agenda, KS; grandchildren Heather (Brett), Harlee, Lane, Jordi, BerkLee, son-in-law Brad Hansen, Concordia, KS; and parents Gale and Sue Atherton, Topeka, KS;

She was preceded by her daughter Tara L. Hansen.

Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m, Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m, Friday, June 10, 2022 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, KS with Pastor Randy Whitley officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at the Zion Cemetery, rural Concordia, KS.

Harry Lee Toliver, 94, Columbia, Mo. died Sunday evening, June 5, 2022 in his assisted living apartment at Lenoir Woods retirement community, Columbia.&nbsp; He was born January 2, 1928, at Concordia, Kansas, to Levi and Nettie (Cline) Toliver.

He graduated from Concordia High School in the Class of 1946.

He married the former Beverly J. Van Slyke on August 27, 1949 in Concordia at the Presbyterian Church. &nbsp;She preceded him in death on March 1, 2002.

He was a member of First Christian Church of Concordia.

Harry was a manager of the Kansas Power &amp; Light office in Manhattan, worked as accountant for Van Valkenburg, Yonning and Sink, and retired as assistant to the comptroller at Kansas State University.

He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly, and is survived by a daughter, Shelly Wittwer (Jim), of Kansas City, MO; son Gary Toliver (Carol), of Columbia, MO; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Family graveside services and burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2022 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia, Kansas with Pastor Dwight Whitead officiating.

She attended school at St. Ann Grade School in Clyde, then graduated from Clyde High School, class of 1958.

Mary Ann attended Salina Beauty College and received her degree in cosmetology.

She married Larry Morris on, December 23, 1959 in Salina, Kansas.&nbsp; They were married for 55 years until Larry’s passing on March 3, 2015.

To this union three children were born, Dennis, Sherri, Barry.

She was a homemaker and worked in a daycare for 13 years; taking care of children was her passion.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and most of all, spending time with her beloved family and friends.

Mary Ann was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church in, Ardmore, AL.

Survivors include her sons Dennis (Lisa), Barry, and a daughter, Sherri, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a brother, John Hamel, sister Rita Salmon, a sister, Pauline and husband Francis Ouellette, and sister, Kathleen Ouellette, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, parents Francis and Yvette, a brother, Ernest Hamel, and a sister, Theresa Mary (Deaver) Schwab.

Jeffery (Jeff) Michael Savery, 54, of Hope, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at home. He was born on Dec. 20, 1967, in Pamona, CA, the son of Roger and Barbara Savery. He grew up in Salina and participated in sports and other school activities.

After graduation, Jeff was united in marriage with Christina Savery in 1987. She survives of the home. He worked for Great Plains Manufacturing in Abilene for 30 years. Jeff enjoyed golfing and spending time with his six grandchildren. Jeff is survived by his loving wife Chris of the home, two sons Travis (and Hannah) Savery of Abilene, Tyler (and Heather) Savery of Salina; and six grandchildren,&nbsp; Houston, Henry, Hudson, Emmett, Isaac, and Simon Savery. He was preceded in death by his brother Scottie Savery, grandparents George and Rose Savery and Wilbur and Hazel Griffiths and parents-in-law John and Maggie Brunner. There will be a celebration of life held at Hope City Park on Saturday, June 25th at 4 p.m.

Any donations can be made to Chris Savery and she will donate them to a cause of her choice. Memorials may be dropped off or mailed to Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW Third ST., Abilene, Kansas 67410.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Funeral services for Richard C. Laws, age 73, of Abilene, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at his home in Abilene. He was born July 3, 1948 in Junction City, Kansas, the son of Charles and Genevieve (Adolph) Laws. Dick was a United States Air Force veteran. He worked for Vacu-Blast and Abrassive Blast, both in Abilene, and also for ABB in Solomon. He was a member of the Abilene Elks Lodge and Eagles Lodge, both in Abilene, and the American Legion in Junction City. Dick is survived by his nephew Darrin Walton of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Patricia Walton. Services for Dick will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the Abilene Cemetery with Pastor Lindsey Brummer officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force.

Larry passed away in his home after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Hutchinson, KS January 16,1942. Beloved son of Bernice L Corkins and Elizabeth (Hamilton) Corkins.

Larry married Claudine Woodall on October 25,1963. They shared almost 59 wonderful years together.

Preceded in death by his parents and stepfather Ted Richardson, son Larry Dale Corkins and daughter Rebecca Lynn Bone, siblings Faye Clark, May Oxenreider, Marie Clark, Gary Corkins, Jerry Corkins and Bobby Corkins, sister-in-Law Dixie Long.

Survived by his wife Claudine Corkins and daughter Candie Higginbotham (Tony) of Leavenworth.

He was Gramps to&nbsp; Dale Martin (Jessica), Justin Corkins (Jessica), Ashlye Baxter (Jordan), Andrew Arnold (Shannon), Tyson Wooten, Whitney Corkins (Drew), Aaron Higginbotham (Felicia), Samantha Smith, Shane Higginbotham and 17 great-grandchildren.

Dearest uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Retired from the Kansas State Fair after 24 years of service. Was a retired member of the Hutchinson Noon Lions Club. Member of the Buhler High School Class of 1960.

Larry loved to “fix” things. Loved western movies and watching MASH. He was a big John Wayne fan. Crafted miniature covered wagons and stagecoaches for his grandchildren.

Playing cards and dice games with friends and family was something Larry and Claudine enjoyed together their entire marriage.

Holidays and family gatherings were important to Larry. He looked forward to the fun, the love, the hugs and leftovers.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life at the Sand Hills Event Center in Hutchinson, KS will be held June 25th at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Kansas Honor Flight in Care of Ryan Mortuary.
