The Southeast of Saline cross country teams continued their run of top-two finishes with another one-two at this year’s Buhler Invitational.
Despite facing bigger 4 and 5A schools, the Trojans and Lady Trojans kept their composure resulting in another convincing victory for the boys and a respectable runner-up finish for the girls.
On the boy’s side, SES finished the meet 24 points clear of Berean Academy in second, with another staggeringly low score of just 36 points.
The Trojans took four of the top ten spots led by Damion Jackson, whose time of 16:57.9 was good enough to make the podium in third place.
Jackson was followed closely by Levi Allen, who finished just two seconds off the senior's pace in fourth, with Brayden and Cayden Walker taking sixth and ninth within a minute of the Trojan leader.
Freshman Jacob Bircher and senior Nakari Morrical-Palmer would also finish in the top 25, wrapping up their race in 14th and 25th respectively.
On the girl’s side, the Lady Trojans ran very well, posting a score of 54 points, but couldn’t catch 5A Great Bend, who won the meet with 37.
Individually it was a fantastic race for Ashley Prochazka, who added another gold medal to her resume with a meet-winning time of 20:59.9.
Prochazka was followed closely by freshman phenom Abby Commerford, who put a second Lady Trojan on the podium with a third-place finish.
Breckyn Alderson missed out on the top ten by the narrowest of margins, wrapping up just her third varsity race in 11th with sophomore Cali Augustine rounding out the Lady Trojan medalists in 16th.
Through three meets neither team has failed to finish outside the top two, a run Southeast will look to continue at their home invitational on September 20th.
