SALINA, KAN. - Multiple police units were at Salina South High before noon on Tuesday.
The units were on the north side of the school with another driving around the school on the south side.
One officer on the scene told the Salina Post the units were requested to be at Salina South by school officials.
There was also a K-9 unit in the parking lot.
One of the K-9 units was a training unit based out of Hutchinson.
"There is no cause for alarm on this," said Lt. Andrew Zeigler with Salina P.D. "South (High) k-9 was requested, and this was at the request of the school. This was part of a pre-planned event at the school."
