The Southeast of Saline girls' basketball team cruised through their opening round playoff matchup, taking down Kingman 62-30 on Friday en route to a spot in the sub-state semifinals.

The Lady Trojans played a nearly perfect first quarter defensively, holding Kingman to just two points on a lone field goal to hold a 12-2 lead after one.
In the second, the Southeast offense came alive, and by halftime, the Lady Trojan lead was 12.
The third quarter saw more of the same, with five different Lady Trojans getting in on the fun pushing the lead to 28 before securing a running clock early in the fourth.
Southeast masterfully turned defense into offense, forcing 28 turnovers while coughing the ball up just seven times themselves.
Abigail Pearson led the Lady Trojans in scoring with 18 points, aided by Taryn Goetz (11), Reagan Duran (11) and Suttyn Douglas (10).
Parker Beam and Alexis Winsor led Kingman with nine points apiece in the loss.
For the Lady Eagles, the campaign comes to a close at 4-20, while SES improves to 17-5. The Lady Trojans will take on Trego in the sub-state semifinals next Wednesday.
