CONCORDIA – In accordance with the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference, the Cloud County athletic department has announced a “no fan” policy at all KJCCC athletic events through Feb. 5.

The decision was made at the latest KJCCC President’s meeting which took place on Nov. 30, with the policy going into effect on Jan. 4 for all 21 KJCCC member schools. Only personnel deemed “essential” to the function of the contest will be allowed into the facility that the event is taking place while the policy is in effect.

“As members of the KJCCC, we respect the decision that has been made to implement a no fan policy through Feb. 5 despite voting against the policy,” said CCCC President Amber Knoettgen. “Although we took the necessary steps of preparing and testing our fan protocols during home scrimmages this fall, we will take the additional time to further plan for any additional protocols that will need to be implemented in hopes of having fans attend our athletic events later in the spring.”

A meeting of the KJCCC Presidents is expected to occur during the first week of February to re-examine the “no fan” policy and how to proceed moving forward following the Feb. 5 date.

The policy does not affect the current schedules of any Cloud County Community College athletic teams, as the T-Birds will see spring competition get underway on Jan. 20 with the CCCC men’s basketball team. All Cloud County home athletic events will be streamed live and can be accessed at www.cloudtbirds.com/video/TBirdSportsNetwork.
