Anna’s life began on April 5, 1945, in East St. Louis, IL. She was the daughter of Jose and Maria F. (Penaranda) Segobiano. Anna graduated from St. Teresa’s Academy in east St. Louis. She was united in marriage to Louis Voelker on November 15, 1969, in Littleton, CO.
Anna was a florist and homemaker, raising their eight children.
She was a faithful parishioner of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Florence and a member of the Altar Society. Anna enjoyed making rosaries for caskets, floral arranging and decorating cakes but her greatest joy was her family which includes her husband Lou of Florence; children Christine Parks of Grove City, OH, Deanna (Rob) Saba of Medina, OH, Nancy (Alan) Heckart of Omaha, NE, Martin (Kayme) Voelker of Nixa, MO, Fr. Nicholas Voelker, KHS of Newton, Dominic Voelker of Florence, Maria (Tom) West of Shawnee, KS and Eric Voelker of Carroll, TX; grandchildren Aly, Philip, Eva, Grace, Ben, Jessica, Alyson, Abby, Anastasia, John, William and Emily; siblings Ruth Voelker of Highland Ranch, CO and Arnold (Connie) Segobiano of Alton, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Anna passed away on Tuesday November 2, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Marion. She is preceded in death by her parents, and eleven brothers and sisters.
Her family will gather with friends on Monday, November 8 from 5-7 p.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen, KS (Remington Road and 275th St.) where rosary prayers will be offered at 7 p.m. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by her son, Father Nicholas Voelker, KHS on Tuesday November 9 at 10 a.m. at the church. She will be laid to rest in the Pilsen Cemetery.
