The Kansas Wesleyan Overwatch squad played in the first-ever KCAC conference Overwatch matches and finished Friday night's competitions with a split in the two matches.

KWU's Gold Overwatch team faced off against the Bethany Swedes. The match was broadcast through the KCAC's partnership with Launch Esports. The Coyotes and Swedes played three tight maps, where both teams made drastic swings and come backs. Ultimately, the day went to the Swedes in a 3-0 sweep. Freshman Aiden Quill (FR/Salina) had the play of the night, as he eliminated every member of the Bethany team with one use of his ultimate ability.

The Purple team faced off against Oklahoma Wesleyan and came away with the win 3-0. Purple moves to 1-0 in KCAC play and 2-0 overall on the season. With the win, the Purple Coyotes also extended their season map record to a perfect 6-0. Strong performances from Senior Bryden Cole (SR/Salina) and Freshman Trystan Donmoyer (FR/Tamaqua, Pa.) on the DPS role were highlights of the match.

"I am very proud of the way these teams have come together in such a short time," Head Coach Zac Allor said. "Many of these players are new to Esports, and neither of our teams have much continuity from previous seasons. I am excited to see how we can continue to grow and improve together as an Esport department and as Overwatch teams."

The Gold team faces a tough opponent on Friday against Ottawa University, and the Purple team is on a bye week for KCAC before playing Bethany in week three action.
