Cloud County Sports Information
CHARLOTTE, NC - Following a 10-1 start to the regular-season, the Cloud County Community College baseball team has made an appearance in a pair of national rankings for the week of Feb. 28.
The T-Birds came in as a team receiving votes in the first regular-season National Junior College Athletic Association Top-20 poll of the year while coming in as the No. 25-ranked team in the latest JBB.net baseball rankings.
One of 10 teams under consideration and receiving votes just outside the top-20 in the NJCAA poll, the appearance in the NJCAA poll is the first for Cloud County since March of 2020. During that season, the T-Birds would get off to a 10-1 start and finish the season 14-4 overall after the COVID-19 Pandemic would set in and force the cancellation of the remainder of the season. In the latest edition of the NJCAA Top-20 Poll, Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference foe Cowley is ranked number six while Johnson County and Colby join CCCC as teams that are receiving votes.
In the JBB.net Week Five Poll released on Tuesday, Cloud County makes a move from the list of next five out to No. 25 to join No. 13 ranked Cowley and No. 16 ranked Johnson County from the KJCCC. JBB.net is one of the most dedicated sources covering Junior College Baseball, providing national rankings each week in addition to weekly awards, a mid-season All-American list, and post-season All-American honors. Ran by Noah Sharp, the JBB.net also provides weekly previews of the top matchups across junior college baseball and provides additional information for those that have a subscription to the service.
