For the third time in as many seasons, the Southeast of Saline Trojans have a playoff victory, this time by a score of 46-8 over Clay Center.

While the Tiger’s season will end at 4-5, the Trojans will keep the undefeated party rolling at 8-0.

It was a dominant night for Southeast on the ground, with 150 yard rushing performances from both Jaxson Gebhardt and Bryant Banks.

“I thought we ran the ball very well," Trojan head coach Mitch Gebhardt said. "The boys did a good job of blocking it and Jaxson, Bryant and Matthew ran the ball well.”

The Trojans got the party started early with an 11 yard rushing touchdown from Jaxson Gebhardt in the first quarter.

Clay Center started to get worn down in the second, as Southeast ran in two more scores, both by Bryant Banks.

The Tigers stuck around before halftime though, thanks to a touchdown connection from Blake Frederick to Tanner Demars to make it a 24-8 game at the half.

In the second half however, it was all Southeast as the Trojans flexed their muscle on both sides of the ball, rushing for 400 yards and holding the Tigers to just 26 yards of total offense in the half.

Before the final whistle, Banks rushed for two more touchdowns and Gebhardt tacked on one of his own to make the final score 46-8.

The Trojans will have another home playoff game next week when they host Marysville. The Bulldogs will come in at 4-4 following a dominant 45-21 victory over Colby this week.
