The Juneteenth Committee of Salina is proud to announce the upcoming 18th annual Salina Juneteenth Celebration, taking place next month.

On Thursday, June 19th - Saturday, June 21st, events filled with honoring and celebrating Black history, culture and community will occur around parts of Salina.

Thursday kicks off the celebration at the Salina Art Center Cinema on 150 S. Sante Fe. A special screening of "Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom" will show at 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm, with a panel discussion to follow the 6:00 pm showing. The discussion will be moderated by Pastor Robert M. Cunningham of Lift Church of God in Christ. Both screenings are free and open to public.

Friday continues the celebration in Oakdale Park, with a night full of live soul music from Rudy Love & The Encore, alongside special guests Cash Hollistah and DJ Detroit. This live music event "R&B in the Park," will occur at 6:00 pm. Food trucks will be on site and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and coolers (no glass bottles allowed). This event is free and open to the public.

Ending the celebration on Sunday will be a Juneteenth Parade, which kicks off at 10:00 am at the corner of 9th St. and Iron Ave. The parade is followed by the annual Juneteenth Celebration in Oakdale Park, starting at 11:00 am. Festivities include live performances from Kim Paige and special guest Zafaja, with a keynote address from Brenda McDaniel (2025 inductee into the Kansas Teacher Hall of Fame). Food trucks, vendors and kid's games will be on site along with prize giveaways.

Vendors, food trucks and volunteers are encouraged to join the celebration.
