Southeast of Saline went on the road Friday night for the first time in 2026 for a league contest at Lyons and breezed by the Lions in a 55-6 rout.
The Trojan defense set the tone early, forcing Lyons into a three-and-out. After the Lyons punt, SES drove down the field with a potent rushing attack and scored on a 10-yard run by Tiernan Ptacek.
That score for Ptacek foreshadowed things to come. The senior quarterback finished the night with three passing touchdowns and 3 rushing touchdowns in just three quarters of action.
Casson Klover would be on the receiving end of two touchdowns and finished the game with five receptions for 113 yards. Karson Barragan caught the other scoring pass, which covered 21 yards.
The Trojan offense racked up 514 yards of total offense, 204 passing yards and 310 rushing yards with 19 first downs.
The Trojan defense was stout as well. SES held Lyons to just two first downs and 160 total yards. The Lions had 2 big plays over 50 yards including a 55 yard touchdown run with 1:31 remaining in the game.
Southeast of Saline secured the win but still has plenty to improve. Penalties were a problem for the Trojan offense, which incurred eight penalties. SES also had three turnovers.
Southeast of Saline starts the season 2-0 for the ninth consecutive season and now will turn its attention to a Homecoming game on Friday against Ellsworth.
