LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas Jayhawks are set to make the more than 4,500-mile journey to London this week to take on the Arizona State Sun Devils in the first-ever Union Jack Classic at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
The Jayhawks will head to London on Tuesday afternoon following a morning practice to continue preparations for the Sun Devils. The two teams will then tangle in the first-ever college football game at Wembley Stadium on Saturday at 11 a.m. CST on FS1.
The inaugural game was first announced on October 1, 2025 and will provide Kansas Football with an elevated spotlight with Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff traveling to London to preview the game. Coach Lance Leipold and Kansas took advantage of the opportunity to play in the game with the current reduced capacity at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium and six other home games still slated for Lawrence.
Both teams enter the UJC with a 1-1 mark after dropping a contest to an SEC opponent last weekend. The Jayhawks fell to Missouri 38-21, while Texas A&M got the best of Arizona State, 48-20 on Saturday.
Offensively, quarterback Isaiah Marshall has thrown for 414 yards and four touchdowns in his first two career starts, while adding 72 yards on the ground. Receiver Nik McMillan, a transfer from Buffalo, leads the team with eight catches for 182 yards and a pair of touchdowns. McMillan is fourth in the Big 12 in receiving yards per game at 91 and is one of five Big 12 receivers to have multiple touchdown catches already this season.
Running backs Yasin Willis and Dylan Edwards lead the ground game and have combined for 161 yards on 31 carries through two games with a pair of Willis touchdowns. Edwards is also the team’s second-leading receiver with five grabs for 52 yards.
Defensively, linebacker Trey Lathan, the team’s leading tackler last year, is at it again this year and leading the team with 12 tackles through two games, including 1.5 tackles-for-loss and a sack. Defensive end Leroy Harris has been a menace through two games with eight tackles, four tackles-for-loss, two pass breakups, a forced fumble and a blocked field goal, which was returned for a touchdown by Austin Alexander against Missouri. Safety Corey Gordon, a transfer from Louisville, is also off to a strong start with eight tackles, one tackle-for-loss, one pass breakup and a blocked kick of his own.
The Sun Devils are led by quarterback Cutter Boley, who has already thrown for eight touchdowns in just two games. Boley, a transfer from Kentucky, has thrown for 641 yards and a pair of interceptions to go with his eight scores. Kyson Brown is the team’s leading rusher with 146 yards and a touchdown. Reed Harris already has 15 catches for 326 yards and four scores through two games.
Former Kansas and Oklahoma State safety Lyrik Rawls is part of the ASU defense and has the team’s lone interception so far this season to go with four tackles. Adrian Wilson and Owen Long both lead the team with 11 tackles apiece.
The Sun Devils traveled to London on Sunday, following their game in College Station on Saturday. The Jayhawks will land Wednesday morning and have their first overseas practice that afternoon.
Both teams will participate in separate tourist trips to the Tower Bridge on Thursday, before final preparations on Friday.
