
Frances Ann Drummond passed away on April 4, 2025, in Salina. She was born November 13, 1929, to Frank and Anna (Jaros) Derganz in Monaca, PA.
Her father passed away when she was only 9 years old, and in 1945 her mother re-married and they moved to Salina, KS. She graduated from Salina High School and Brown Mackie College.
She married Elbert (Ace) Drummond in 1952 in Salina, KS.
Frances worked for Richmond, Glover and Barbee Insurance, Central Savings & Loan, and retired after 25 years of service for the Catholic Diocese of Salina. She was also the bookkeeper for Ace Auto Shop and The Ritz Theater in the1960’s and for Drummond Farms into her early 90’s. In her retirement, she worked part-time at the Minneapolis Library for many years and also served on the Central Kansas Library Board.
Frances was a long-time member of the Immaculate Conception Church and was also an active member of the VFW Auxiliary in Minneapolis. She and Ace were very active with the Golden Wheel and delivered Meals on Wheels for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Glen Lee, and her husband Elbert “Ace” Drummond.
Frances is survived by her son, Paul (Jerri) Drummond; daughter Denise (Sheldon) Frain; and son, Tony (Susan) Drummond. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Leslie (Matt) Parker and grandson, Chris (Michelle) Drummond; as well as great -grandchildren Micah, Levi, and Claire Parker; Connery, Lennox, and Ace Drummond.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, April 10 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 11 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #3201 or the Golden Wheel Senior Center and may be left in care of the funeral home.
