A Saline County home in the process of renovation suffers house fire, due to faulty wiring.
According to the Saline County Sheriff's Office (SO) on Saturday at around 10:40 pm, a house fire occurred in the 800 block North Halstead Road.
Before the fire, the family of the home was inside when suddenly the lights went out and smelled a smoking sensation.
The family then turned the light fuse back on, but quickly turned it back off once they saw a glowing wire from a light fixture.
Each member of the household evacuated and Rural Fire District 3 & 7, Salina Fire Department EMS responded to the scene.
After the fire was extinguished, smoke and fire damage was limited to the ceiling and attic area.
Damage was estimated to be $5,000.
