SALINE COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Saline County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Kenworth semi driven by Mathiwos G. Gifawessen, 38, Aurora, Colo., was westbound on Interstate 70 just west of Solomon Road.
The semi left the roadway to the left, traveled through the guardrail and down the embankment onto the railroad tracks underneath the interstate and to rest against embankment on the other side of the tracks.
EMS transported Gifawessen to a hospital in Wichita. The KHP did not have seat belt usage information.
