The Southeast of Saline Trojan cross country teams continue to live up to expectations, taking first and second at their home meet in 2021.

At this year’s Trojan Invitational the SES girls team took home the top spot with the boys not far behind finishing second.

The girl’s team was anchored by another meet-winning performance by Jentrie Alderson, who beat out all other competitors with a time of 18:25.4.

Alderson was joined by three other Trojans in the top ten, including the dynamic freshmen duo of Abby Commerford and Cali Augustine who came finished fourth and ninth respectively.

Senior Joni Schroeder rounded out the top ten followed by Sadie Franklin in 11th, Savannah Sutton in 14th, and Ashley Prochazka in 20th.

The team’s score of 35 points was a statement, finishing 53 points ahead of their next closest competitor in Wichita Trinity.

On the boy’s side, the team finished just 15 points off the pace of Wichita Trinity but did take two of the three podium places thanks to another race win from Dylan Sprecker and a third-place finish by Damion Jackson.

Levi Allen rounded out top ten finishers in 8th while Joel Kejr turned in a solid performance in 13th.

It was also another great day for the SES JV teams as Mallorie Pearson, Brookelyn Adams and Brenna Felzien cleaned up the podium on the girl’s side while Ben Heinrich took home a victory on the boy’s side.

Southeast of Saline will be back in action at the Halstead Invitational on September 30th.
