101 Series workshops set for Art Center Warehouse this month

Go back to the basics this July with Darren Morawitz at the Salina Art Center Warehouse Education Studio.

101 Series workshops, for ages 15 and older, are scheduled for 10 a.m.-noon at the Salina Art Center Warehouse Education Studio, 149 S. Fourth Street.

The enrollment fee is $30 each or $80 for all three workshops. Sign up at SalinaArtCenter.org/workshops. All supplies will be included.

The three workshops are as follows.

COMPOSITION 101
Saturday, July 16, 10 a.m.-noon, $30
Students will learn the fundamentals of creating a piece of art and will explore and discuss the elements and principles of design. Students will create several helpful reference sheets to use in the future and complete a landscape applying their new skills.

COLOR THEORY 101
Saturday, July 23, 10 a.m.-noon, $30
Students will learn the fundamentals of color theory and explore the color relationships within the color wheel and how to apply it to visual artforms. Students will create several helpful reference sheets, color wheels, and a fun non-representationalartpiece.

PERSPECTIVE 101
Saturday, July 30, 10 a.m.-noon, $30
Students will learn the basics of one and two point perspective in relationship to drawing. Students will create several helpful reference sheets and several drawings practicing perspective skills.
