MITCHELL COUNTY —Due to a train car derailment in the southeast area of Beloit several streets are currently closed to all traffic, the Beloit Police Department reported early Tuesday.
At this time, the following roads are closed: Brooklyn; Elm and Asherville Road. This is a minor derailment and only three rail cars are involved.
There is currently no estimated time for reopening. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes for your safety and to allow emergency crews and railroad personnel room to work.
There are no injuries reported. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
