Kansas man hospitalized after car strikes bridge rail

MCPHERSON COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 4:30p.m. Sunday in McPherson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Acura TSX driven by Hernan A. Rodriguez-Vallandares, 22, Wichita, was southbound on Interstate 135 at Smoky Valley Road.

The car struck the guardrail on the west side of the roadway, crossed the southbound lanes, struck the bridge rail, then crossed the median and northbound lanes and came to rest on the exit ramp.

EMS transported Rodriguez-Vallandares to Salina Regional Health Center He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
