UPDATE 7:11 p.m. Friday: The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and has exited the warned area. Therefore, the warning has been canceled. However gusty winds and heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 7:30 p.m. for Saline County.
At 6:12 p.m. CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located six miles southwest of Smolan, or six miles northwest of Lindsborg, moving northeast at 30 mph. Another severe storm was located north of Salina, also moving northeast.
According to the weather service, 60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail are expected.
Locations being impacted include Salina, Assaria, Gypsum, Brookville, Smolan, New Cambria, Falun, Glendale, Bridgeport, Salina Airport, and Kipp.
This includes the following highways Interstate 135 between mile markers 77 and 95 and Interstate 70 between mile markers 236 and 266.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
