Posted Jul 22, 2020 6:02 PM

ABILENE -- The Abilene Area Chamber of Commerce has released the following statement concerning a scam.

Please be aware of a recent SCAM reported by the Abilene Public School District, USD 435 and several local business owners:

The following call was reported by a local business owner:“I just received a call from “James Miller” calling from Abilene High School regarding advertising. I asked him what his position was with the school and he hung up on me.”

A reminder that the only company that USD 435 uses for solicitation is ACE Fundraising (Cowboy Cards). Otherwise a school or organizational representative will make contact with you. During the summer, please call the district office at 263-2630 if you have questions about validity. During school year, please call the AHS office at 263-1260.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,
Allison Blake, Executive Director
Abilene Area Chamber of Commerce
