The Salina Police Department (SPD) is investigating a burglary at Pack Rat Smokes in Salina.
On August 24 SPD officers responded to the Pack Rat Smokes, 695 South Broadway Avenue, at 12:30 a.m. A person called SPD to report someone attempting to break into the business through a back window. According to SPD, the burglar gained access to the business by smashing an eight-inch by 29-inch window. A display was also smashed, causing a total of $500 in damage.
The thief stole eight packs of cigars and vapes valued at $50 before fleeing the scene.The suspect was captured on security footage wearing a hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants, and a full ski mask.
Despite reviewing the footage, SPD were unable to identify or apprehend the suspect and are continuing their investigation into the incident.
