Another great turnout occurred as around 300 Salina-area community members of all ages gathered in Sunset Park on Tuesday, for Annual Veterans Day Commemoratives service, hosted by VFW Post 1432.

The event MC was David Medina, (Adjutant - Army - Post 1432), alongside Dan Pestinger (Sergeant at Arms retired Marine) and Michael Weis (Chaplin - Air Force - Post 1432) also assisting.
A Color Guard Service was provided by the Marine Corps League, Tri-Rivers Detachment, the American Legion Riders Post 62 and the VFW Riders Post 1432.
Students from Cornerstone Classical School recited the Declaration of Independence.
Keynote speaker was retired Colonel Karen Weis, a 29-year Army Combat Veteran who is a native of the Salina area, currently working with KU school of nursing.
