Thomas W. Kadel, Beloit
July 4, 1947 - December 6, 2022
Thomas Warren Kadel was born on July 4, 1947 in Belleville, Kansas, the son of Melvin and Betty Burnett. He was later adopted by Ivan and Alice Kadel. He died on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at his home in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 75 after a battle with cancer.
He grew up on the Kadel farm between Jamestown and Randall, and later graduated from Jewell High School in 1966.
Tom served our country in the United States Army, and was a Vietnam veteran. He was also a member of the VFW and NRA, and was a true American patriot.
He met his wife Brenda Brozek in Sylvan Grove. They were married on May 24, 1980 in Sylvan Grove. They lived in Sylvan Grove until 1981, when they moved to Beloit.
Tom worked for Wichers Farms and Solomon Valley Feeders, and then went to work as a welder for Sunflower Manufacturing for many years before retiring. He also helped his parents with farming and the livestock.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating, gardening, farming, and visiting. He was also an avid gun collector. No one was a stranger, and he would strike up a conversation with anyone. He always wanted to help those that he loved and those less fortunate than him.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Brenda of the home; son Clayton of Beloit; daughter Mary of Manhattan; brothers Bill and wife Lawanna of Texas, and David and wife Jean of Randall; sister Teresa of Concordia; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law Duane and wife Jeri Brozek of Ellinwood, and George Brozek of Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends, but is no longer in pain, and resting in peace with the Lord.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, December 12 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
