Victor “Vic” Boyd Riley, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Sunday January 25, 2026, at his home in Salina with family by his side.
Vic was born on December 1, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio. He grew up in Verdi and attended a one room schoolhouse during his elementary years.
He graduated from Solomon High and then attended Brown Mackie College, getting a business degree. He worked as an accountant for Graves Truck Line, was a computer operator for Schwan’s and his last employment was working in car sales.
On July 30, 1978, he married Susan Harder, the love of his life. He was a great husband, and best friend, always treating her with love, kindness, and respect. You rarely ever saw one without the other.
Vic was a loving and devoted father, always supportive of his three daughters, Shawna, Noelle, and Brianna, all who meant the world to him. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed being present at his grandchildren’s sporting events, cheering them on and was always proud of their athletic abilities and scholastic accomplishments in school. He also enjoyed fun times like going out to eat with friends, playing cards, and visiting with his coffee group.
Vic looked forward to going to church every Sunday to start his week off right. Vic and Susan were greeters at The Ark, and Vic was perfect for the job. He had a kind soul and heart of gold. Whether you were a stranger, a friend, or family, you could always count on Vic greeting you. He was always so quick witted, he could get a laugh out of anyone. His main goal was to get a smile from people, and he always accomplished his mission.
He is survived by his wife, Susan of almost 48 years; daughters Shawna (Jeff) Hulsing, Noelle (Matt) Almand, and Brianna Riley; brothers Roy (JoAnn) Riley, Steven (DeLynn) Riley, Tim Haley; and sister Monika DeHerrera, and eight grandchildren, Sophia, Sedwin, and Bloom Riley; Ellie, Leo, and Dorothy Hulsing, Ivy and Nora Almand.
He is preceded in death by his mom, Erika Haley and stepdad Ed Haley.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., February 12, 2026, at The Ark Church, 2020 S Ohio St, Salina, KS 67401.
Memorials may be made in Vic’s honor to The Ark Church
