SALINA, KAN. - President Donald Trump will be in Salina for a rally this Saturday, October 31st.
The venue has not yet been named, but doors expect to open at 8:30 a.m. with the lawmaker remarks beginning at 10:30 a.m. and President Trump expected to speak at noon.
Saline County Republican Party Chair Brenda Smith says she expects a good turnout.
"We do expect a good turnout, as this is a key year for voters and leadership," said Smith. "The venue has not yet been confirmed, but we will keep you in the loop."
President Trump recently stopped in the Wichita suburb of Park City for a rally where other Kansas Republican politicians spoke prior to the Presidential speech.
No word yet on what other politicians may talk at the Presidential visit to Salina.
This comes on the heels of Vice President JD Vance headlining a campaign rally on Monday afternoon for Kansas U.S. Senator Roger Marshall. Hundreds of people gathered for that rally inside the warehouse of a steel-fabricating company in Topeka.
It was the vice president’s second visit to Kansas to help boost GOP candidates, particularly Roger Marshall, who some polls show is in a tight race with with Democrat Adam Hamilton.
Political analysts show Democrats would need a net gain of four seats to gain a majority and take control of the U.S. Senate.
This is a tossup: Jeff Jarman.
Longtime Kansas political analyst Jeff Jarman says this race for incumbent Republican U.S. Senator Roger Marshall is close.
"To me this confirms what we are hearing, that this state (Kansas) is a tossup and it is close. The control of the senate may be in the balance here," said Jarman.
"This is to say, we have seen over the last ten plus years, where there were competitive races. There have been moments where races have been close. But unlike races over the last ten to fifteen years where we thought they might be competitive and it will go down to the wire... This one (Marshall vs. Democrat challenger Adam Hamilton) is a genuine tossup. This is going to be great political theater."
