On Wednesday, Nov. 29, a grey Honda Odyssey reached 100 mph while fleeing from a Salina Police Department officer, causing the officer to end the chase due to dangerous speeds.
On Sunday, SPD officers arrested the driver, 28-year-old Salina resident Clayton Bratton.
According to SPD Sergeant Kyle Tonniges, officers identified Bratton through the Honda Odyssey's registration. They later located him at the Kwick Shop on the corner of Fairdale Road and Crawford Street.
Tonniges said officers arrested Bratton there without incident.

On Wednesday at 2:48 a.m., a Salina Police Department officer witnessed a 2007 grey Honda Odyssey run a red light at the intersection of Broadway Ave. and South Street.
A vehicle pursuit ensued after police were unable to stop the vehicle. The Odyssey sped off traveling south on Broadway Avenue.
Tonniges said the suspect went through multiple red lights on Broadway Ave. and reached a speed of 100 mph.
When the suspect vehicle reached South Ninth Street, a Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper joined the pursuit.
"He [the suspect] was having some mechanical issues and the vehicle started smoking and came to a stop near the intersection of Tulane and Otto Ave," Tonniges said. "The vehicle had a catastrophic mechanical failure."
The suspect fled on foot, eluding SPD officers. According to Tonniges, SPD is still looking for the unnamed suspect.
