Ronald Lee Green went to be with our Lord & Savior, February 16, 2025. He was born, October 17, 1933 to Raymond M. & Rita N. (Young) Green. He graduated from Salina High School in 1951 and proceeded on to Kansas Wesleyan University. He was united in marriage to Sue Willett on July 18, 1953. He was a loan officer at CIT. He than went to work for National Bank of America (later, UMB) as Executive Vice President.

Ron was very involved in the Chamber of Commerce. He was Ambassador of the year in 1984. He was Director from 1984 to 1986, Ambassador Chairman in 1986 and Internal Affairs Division Chairman in 1986.

He was a Trustee at St. John’s Military School from 1978 to 1984 and 1988-1994. He was made Honorary Colonel in Recognition of Outstanding Services above and beyond the call of duty, May 24, 1981.

He was active at First Presbyterian Church as a Deacon and Trustee among many other involvements. He was the church basketball coach for 11 award/trophy winning years and had a great love for sports. He was an avid, die hard fan of KU, the Royals and the Chiefs.

Ron didn’t know a stranger. He was a very respected and well liked citizen of Salina. He was a family man and his wife, children, grandchildren & great grandchildren were his greatest joys. He loved his dear friends very much.

Out of his many accomplishments, a few of them were that he lead the origination of the annual Salina Tennis Invitational, organized and started the shuttles for the Smoky Hill River Festival and was actively involved with the Friends of the River Project.

After he retired, "Antiquing" became Ron & Sue’s new journey in life. They traveled and antiqued on their annual winter trips to Florida to join many close friends for fun in the sun.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue, parents, Ray and Rita Green, sister, Joyce Green Pearson and brother in law, Willie Hilton.

He is survived by daughters; Holly Bethe (Mark), Hope, KS, Cathy Green, Salina, Ronda Green, Salina; grandchildren, Sara Hunnicutt (Gordon), Christopher Bethe and McCabe Green. His great grandchildren are Riley, Molly and Wyatt Hunnicutt. He is also survived by a sister, Pat Hilton and brother in law, Bruce Pearson and many loved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 4 until 8 pm at the Ryan Mortuary, Salina, The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 pm. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the First Presbyterian Church, Salina, followed by a brief reception in the church parlor. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church or the Friends of the River Project.
