SALINE COUNTY - An Abilene man was cited after a two-vehicle crash on Friday evening.
According to the Saline County Sheriff's Office on August 7 at around 5:06 pm, 29-year-old Lane Dimitt of Abilene was traveling westbound on I-70 in a white 2015 Chevrolet Silverado. As Dimitt approached the Big Junction intersection, Sheriff's say he came up behind a gray 2013 Mazda 3 driven by a 17-year old female of Abilene.
Sheriff's Office stated that the teen slowed down due to a merging semi coming onto I-70 from the ramp, and Dimmit could not slow down in time and struck the teen from behind.
As a result, the teen complained of neck pain and was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment.
Dimitt was cited for Following too close.
