Brett Jon Kuntz, a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, husband and friend departed from this world on April 13th, 2024, due to a tragic accident on the farm that he loved. He left behind a tapestry of cherished memories and a legacy of love that will endure for generations to come. On April 30th, 1980, Brett was born to Renee Jury and Bob Kuntz in Salina, Kansas. Brett's journey began with promise and purpose, each chapter enriched by his unwavering dedication to family and his compassionate spirit.
Brett graduated from Chapman High School (Class of 1999) where everyone was his friend. Brett's zest for life was infectious, his smile and laughter filled every room. He was a kid at heart, finding joy in the simplest of pleasures and embracing every moment with enthusiasm.
On January 24th, 2015, Brett married Melanie Schwab, later divorced. Together, they welcomed two beautiful daughters into their lives, Journey Kuntz, 2010, and Jacey Kuntz, 2015. Brett's devotion to his family knew no bounds, and his daughters were truly the light of his life. His girls were his world, and his love for them shone brightly in every moment they shared.
In the hearts of those who loved him, Brett will forever be remembered for his kindness, his humor, his soft gentle, nature and his endless love. Though he may no longer walk among us, his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched and the love he shared. He is survived by his daughters, Journey and Jacey Kuntz; parents, Bob (Janet) Kuntz, and Renee (Tim) Jury: brothers, Kelly (Kyanna) Kuntz, Tyler (Shari) Kuntz, and Kurt Phillips: nieces and nephews, Tristan, Sam, Clare, Meredith, Kynlie, Ellie, and Kaesen.
Brett’s family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, April 19th, 6-8 pm, at Londeen-Overlease Funeral Home, 206 W 5th St, Chapman, KS.
Services for Brett's life will be held on April 20th, 2024, 1:30 pm at Brett’s home, 2775 Key Road, Abilene, KS, where family and friends will gather to honor his remarkable journey and find solace in each other's company during this time of loss. Preceding the service, a burial will be held at the Indian Hill Cemetery, 501 Hilltop Dr, Chapman, KS.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the “Brett Kuntz Memorial Fund” for Journey and Jacey, reflecting Brett's passion for his girls. Memorials may be dropped off at the funeral home or mailed to Londeen-Overlease Funeral Chapel, PO Box 411, 67431.
