Each September, CKF celebrates the gains made by those in recovery, just as they celebrate health improvements made by those who are managing other chronic health conditions like hypertension, diabetes, or heart disease.
It’s a chance to educate others about recovery, the effectiveness of treatment and recovery support services, and that recovery is possible.
Join CKF for the 2023 Color Run in celebration of National Recovery Month. Everyone is welcome to participate in the 5K or 1-mile run/walk that will take place Sept. 9 at 9 a.m. at Bill Burke Park.
Registration and packet pick-up will open at 7:30 a.m.
All proceeds from race entry fees will go to CKF Addiction Treatment
Substance use and addiction can be a hard topic of discussion and the road to recovery is different for everyone. CKF Addiction Treatment is here to drive the conversation around addiction and recovery and the understanding that addiction is a chronic disease.
By shifting how we speak about and treat addiction, we can make an impact that saves lives. Sharing our stories and individual journeys to recovery not only helps us humanize the experience of individuals living with addiction, but it also helps us understand that we can and do recover.
This is significant and valuable to those living with this chronic disease, as well as to families and communities.
