The American Legion Post 62 and VFW Post 1432 will host the Salina Community Family Day on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the VFW Post, 1108 Crawford in Salina. The event will feature family-friendly activities such as food trucks, vendors, kids' games, a petting zoo, live music, a cornhole tournament, and a beer garden.
A key event during the day will be the Chili Cook-Off, scheduled for 6 p.m. Participants in the cook-off can compete for cash prizes and engage in a fun competition open to all ages. The event also offers a People’s Choice award, making it an engaging opportunity for both chili enthusiasts and the local community. For those interested in tasting, a $7 fee includes chili samples and two drinks.
For those who enjoy cooking or competition, the chili cook-off offers the chance to showcase their culinary skills, win prizes, and enjoy a lively community atmosphere.
