ELLSWORTH COUNTY —Four people were injured in an accident just after 7:30a.m. Saturday in Ellsworth County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Cadillac Escalade driven by Richard A. Thompson, 58, Leavenworth, was westbound on Interstate 70. The driver exited at the Kansas 14 North Lincoln exit and failed to stop at the stop sign.
The Cadillac crossed K-14 highway, left the road, entered the west ditch, became airborne, struck a dirt berm and came to rest in the west side ditch on K-14 just north of Interstate 70.
EMS transported Thompson and passengers April M. Mitchell, 33; Trinity M. Henderson, 15 and Mathis, Serenitee M. Mathis, 6, all of Leavenworth to the hospital in Salina. The two juveniles were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
