Reallocation of ARPA Funds
Background:
On March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was signed into law. The act provides direct funding to each county in the United States through the Coronavirus Local Fiscal Relief Fund (CLFRF.) Saline County received $10,532,376 from the CLFRF. The funds are to be spent on specified purposes primarily related to economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The County has allocated funds for various projects such as supporting air service, studying the impact of fines and fees on residents involved in the criminal justice system, housing development, business incubators, and support for nonprofits.

There is still funding available for reallocation, and the County has a backup list of projects to fund with any unspent funds.
