December 27, 1929 - April 19, 2021

Onette Eloise (Isaacson) Shannon died, Monday, April 19, 2021 at Medicalodge of Clay Center, Kansas at the age of 91.  Onette was born December 27, 1929 at Randolph, Kansas to Marvin and Virginia (Bloomquist) Isaacson. 

She graduated from Randolph High School in 1947, she spent several years teaching elementary school in Riley and Washington counties. She worked at the Linn-Palmer Record and was the bookkeeper for Shannon Conoco for many years. After the death of Neil, Onette went to work at the Clay County Hospital in the dietary department and worked there until her retirement. 

On May 2, 1953 she married Neil Shannon at the Linn Methodist Church.   Neil proceeded her in death June 18, 1990. Onette was also preceded in death by her parents, son Jeffery, son-in-law Joe Ward and grandson Mitchell Bienusa.

Onette was a member of the Clay Center United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Legion Auxiliary Past Presidents. 

Onette loved to crochet blankets, afghans, rugs, potholders, toys or anything else that anyone asked her for. Her joy was making blankets for all her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Daughter: Mary Bienusa and husband Dale, Kirksville, MO

Grandchildren: Kyle Shannon and wife Kelli, Shannon Ward and husband Marcus, Kari Schmidt and husband Ben, Morgan John and husband Justin, Kassi Chapman and husband Anthony, Kerstin Gunselman and husband Jack and Carlyn VanRiette and husband Joe

Great-grandchildren: Brody and Reid Schmidt; Kennedy, Kollyns and Kyper Shannon Claire; William, Lucas and Jacob Jones; Jenna, Benji and Kenna John; Lilly and Bruce Chapman; and Paige VanRiette

Brother: Ormund Issacson and wife Vicky, Wake Forest, NC

Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2021 at the Clay Center United Methodist Church

Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas

Visitation: Will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, Clay Center, Kansas
